Strong Academics at IISER Bhopal

Overall Rating
I am having a very mesmerizing experience in Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhopal; it has a very small but well decorated campus. After coming here, I got to know many things and have enhanced my skills. In our department of Chemistry, you will learn a lot of new things.
 

Academics Rating
I chose to do B.Sc in Chemistry because I wanted to do M.Sc in chemistry. I came here after qualifying IIT JAM exam through CCMN counseling. In each semester there are quizzes, mid semester exam, and an end semester exam. The preparation strategy totally depends on the student. Teachers always refer books and they also provide the study materials just like research papers if needed. My academic experience is good so far but I need to mention one thing, you need to really work hard then only the success will come.
Semester wise fee is Rs. 49,800. One time registration fee is Rs. 15,000.
 

Faculty Rating
Teacher student ratio is 1:3. All the teachers are highly qualified. They use blackboard as well as PPT to teach. They help us in each and every problem. Teacher student bond is good as well. All the teachers are interactive but most of the students prefer limited interaction. Whenever, a student approaches teachers for any kind of help, they will try their best to solve it.
 

Placement Rating
There is no placement cell in the institute.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the hostel facilities are provided by the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhopal. A bed, a shelf, a cupboard, and a study table are provided for each student residing in the hostel. PhD students are given single rooms. The mess food needs some improvement as it not tasty enough.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus is of 600 acres. We have a well decorated Library with many course and non course books. We have a medical facility which provides services 24/7. I really like the view of campus, full of flowers and greenery. Institute also has a canteen and an auditorium.
 

Campus Rating
Overall, campus life is average for me because I don't have many friends to hang out with. You need friends to survive here because academic pressure is very high. Every other day some sort of activity is organized. Annual fest is also conducted by the institute management which is fun to explore. Clubs for dance, music, etc. are also there.
