Sapthagiri NPS University for Computer Science and Engineering

The Sapthagiri NPS University is good in terms of the faculty, quality of education (only the syllabus) but it also needs to build industry required knowledge and provide students with hands on experience on skills and projects. The campus is mediocre and they students can enjoy in their free time. I joined this University because it was near to my house. For Placements you need to have good academic record rest the placements are good. People who are active from the beginning and keep themselves updated will get placed in good companies.

I chose Computer Science and Engineering at Sapthagiri NPS University because I always have been interested in this field since my school days. Although I wanted to be a doctor by choice. The requirements for admission are that the students should have passed 12th grade with minimum of 60%+ and write KCET or COMEDK. You need to carry your rank card and get admission if you’re coming through KCET or COMEDK. The next options are through management. The fee according to management quota will be reduced. We will be having exams every semester and internals every month. There are three internals for a semester and if you have scored less or missed any internal you’ll get fourth to get average.

I chose computer science and engineering branch through management fees of Rs. 3,00,000. It will be less if you know someone in the University management. Its yearly fee. If you have caste certificate please use it when you’re applying for KCET or COMEDK and also there’s this option of scholarship to get from Karnataka Government called SSP.

The faculty members at Sapthagiri NPS University are the best in our branch, I have no idea about other branches but CSE branch faculty members are literally the best. They treat us like their own children and correct us in every way. They just want us to be disciplined, punctual and smart enough to do our things right. The faculty will solve any doubt of yours and won’t make you feel dumb. Engineering is where you can bond with your teachers properly. They use presentations to do their lectures. It’s a pretty good ratio. I am going to miss them after graduation.

The placement cell at Sapthagiri NPS University is present in our University. It is very strict if you miss any of their meetings you’ll regret it later. Most of the companies are EdTech or training companies. Very few branch companies come but if you’re skilled enough you’ll get the job no matter what. If a student has just studied Engineering and has no extra skill then for them it’s hard to get placed in core companies. They will get into training companies for sure. The average package is 4 LP. My placement experience was decent.

Yes, the Sapthagiri NPS University offers hostel facilities but students shift out of hostel after some time as its expensive. But the hostel facility is very strict. Girls and boys have separate hostels. Mess food is decent not that great. I haven’t stayed at the hostel but I am writing this based on what I’ve heard.

The Sapthagiri NPS University campus has seven blocks. The old block is for the VTU engineering students which houses all the branches in the same building. The campus size is decent and is situated in a good locality. Classrooms are well lit and spacious and have proper ventilation. They are equipped with smart boards for lectures. Libraries and labs and seminar halls are present which are fully equipped with the required materials. Sports facilities are great. Canteen is decent too. My favorite thing about the University is the basketball court as I have a lot of memories to cherish there.

Campus is average and every building is either being renovated or is under construction. Earlier we had a huge campus and now there are new buildings, new towers in order to expand the University and it are too dusty due to construction. The sports we have the basketball court and the food court where whole University is seen. It has good places to go around with friends. The University crowd is very much at the University. It is the case everywhere. Just get used to everything and stay focused. There were clubs but now there aren’t any. There are a lot of fests and fashion shows happening right now but for branch or tech based fests are not organized. It’s just the cultural fests. The experience is average in the campus.
