Daulat Ram College: From CUET Entrance to Career Opportunities

As a student, I always wished to study in Delhi University. Later I got admission in DRC New Delhi which lies in the North campus of DU. it has been very wonderful experience. The college offers a vibrant academic environment, with dedicated faculty members who provide in-depth knowledge and support. You get to see a diversity of people, friendly teachers, having opportunity to work on real life projects, great classmates, wonderful infrastructure, and classes with smart boards and ACs makes life here more comfortable.

I have chosen BA (Hons.) in Economics. I always had a inclination towards Economics and it excites me a lot. Entry requirements for this particular score are you should have gotten 75% or more in 12th grade and had Math in high school. After this, you have to clear CUET exam with Math in it. After this, you have to apply for Delhi University admissions. If you meet the criteria, you get the admission. If I talk about academics and frequency of exams in my course, it is a very academically focused subject. it does have regular tests, internal assessments, mid-semesters, and end-semesters. This course can open a wide range of job options. This stream has a lot of scope, for ex Banking, finance, data analysis, sales revenue, and many more.

Fee that I have paid for my course in first year were Rs. 32,100 and for second year, I paid Rs. 28,900. It doesn't offer any fee relaxation to specific categories except for PwD candidates.

If I specifically talk about faculty at our college, they are very responsive and subsequently experienced in their respective fields as having a job as a assistant professor requires a lot of efforts and qualifications. Therefore, the teachers are well qualified. They use different methods of teaching like GD, projects, presentations, smart boards, and excel in our class. We are very friendly with the teachers allotted to us. They understand every query and answer it. I find them very approachable. There is no formal barrier amongst us. I can ask them anything wherever whenever.

We do have a placement cell named as Vriddhi, which does offers various placements, internships and organize a annual placement fest (Incrementum). It helps in providing various opportunities to students and notifying them regarding it.

Yes, our college does provide residential facilities. We have a hostel in the college campus for only girls as DRC New Delhi is a women's college. There's mess food that is good. Rs. 1,69,000 is a hostel fee for a semester. it does gives comfortable stay. Hostel have a strict curfew at 7 PM.

Infrastructure at out college is nice. It has various classrooms with blackboard, projectors, smart boards, and many more. At our college library, we have a wide range of books from International to National as Behind an Economics, London School of Economics books are really beneficial for us, and we do find these books there. We have seminar hall, conference hall, and auditorium. Auditorium is very big like it can easy hold 400 people of capacity. We do have a sports complex and gym for girls. Canteen food is really good. Despite the canteen, we are also beneficial from Amul and Nescafe's Kiosks models. My favorite thing as a part of DRC New Delhi is eating burger at Amul. My favorite place is front lawn that has a Gazebo in it.

Overall campus life is a really great experience and worth. As coming from a different state to finding a life in a new place is very difficult, adjustments requires a lot of time but it has been worth. The college’s crowd is very welcoming so it doesn't feel like you are new here. There are many societies in our college (at least 20+ societies). Even I am the part of 2 of them. We do have regular fests going on, our annual fest ‘Manjari’ is well organized by college, annual exhibition. It is a life of wonderful chaos indeed.
