VJEC Kannur for B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science

Vimal Jyothi Engineering College is a good college that values both academics and peaceful life of students. This college offers several courses such as B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, etc. In our college, the faculties are good, friendly, and maintain a good relationship with the students. It also offers several scholarships for students that helps them to pursue their goals at a minimal expense. This college is so good when it compared to the fee structure of other colleges.

I chose B.Tech with Artificial Intelligence & Data Science. The reason for this is robust development of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science industry and my love towards the world of programming. The entry requirements for the admission process of the college are so simple. The individuals should qualify either JEE or KEAM entrance exams and should complete their higher secondary education with good marks. In total, there are eight semesters for completing this course. In each semester, there are three Continuous Internal Assessment examinations and a final semester examination that is conducted by the university itself. The academics prepare students for having a blooming career in the industrial and IT sector.

The fee of VJEC Kannur is less and affordable compared to other colleges for the same course. B.Tech AI-DS students must pay Rs. 98,500 per year as tuition fee, which is less when compared to other colleges. There are also other fee like semester exam and registration fee for each semester. College also offers several scholarships for students based on their academic performance. There are scholarships, which cover the entire tuition fee, which is based on the higher secondary’s (Physics Chemistry & Math) marks along with the entrance rank.

The faculties of this college are so good. Some of them are expert in their subjects by taking Master’s and PhDs. Faculty members are so friendly and approachable for students. The method of teaching is so understandable and the faculties make use of black boards and PPTs for making every concept crystal clear for the students. In addition, they are always ready to make all the topics clear for each and every student. The use of group discussion is also a good thing, which helps them to understand and solve the doubts and problems faced by the students. The problem solving abilities of the faculties are so good and it helps in numerous ways to solve the doubts of the students. Even in the time of examinations they so approachable for every students for cleaning their each and every doubts in the most effective way.

In this college, there is a placement cell, which has faculties who help the students to get placed on companies after completing their B.Tech degree. From the starting of sixth semester the students are allowed to take internships from the companies they like. There are so many placement related activities done by the college for getting each and every student placed. Renowned companies like Bharath Banz, Amazon, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, etc. visit the college offering placements for the coming engineers. The average package offers is around 400000 per annum.

The college offers hostel facilities for the students. There are separate hostels for girls and boys. There are two hostels for boys and another two for girls. In boy’s hostel, there are four members in each room and the individuals are provided with cots, beds, shelf, study table, and chair for each one. There is also a common washing space, bathrooms, and toilets for each floor. There is also securities and warden ensuring the safety of the students. The mess food is good and the mess hall is well maintained and cleaned. The fees of hostel is less when compared to other hostels. The hostel and mess fee is Rs. 5,500 per month. VJEC Kannur also provide free gym access for the hostlers. The last time to enter the hostel is 6:00 PM. There is also compulsory study time for the students starting from 8:30 PM to 11:30 PM.

The campus is big and wide. There are so many blocks such as administrative block and other department blocks. There are also academic faculties like Central library, department library, labs, seminar halls, auditorium (AC and non- AC), conference hall, etc. There are also canteens and cafeterias in the college campus, which are maintained and hygiene. There are also basketball courts, volleyball courts, badminton courts, football ground, cricket ground, etc. The college has a strong focus in building good athletes and good sports teams. It also offers transportation service such as college bus for day scholars. There are also securities and surveillance cameras for ensuring safety and security of the students.

Overall campus life is so good. VJEC Kannur provides a peaceful atmosphere by staying out of the traffics and other cities. There are so many clubs such as IEEE and other clubs for creating students in a better way. The extracurricular activities organized by the college is less compared to other colleges. I hope it organizes fresher’s day and ethnic days for the students in the future. There are tech fests and other events conducted for the development of students. The campus life is good with the good crowd and sports facilities make the brighter and fitter for the real life situations.
