Kirori Mal College: Placements, Hostels, and Infrastructure Insights

Kirori Mal College is a great college to study in for someone who is also preparing for other competitive exams as it provides you with the flexibility of attending the classes and along with it prepare for other exams. Fee structure is great and affordable along with providing basic facilities. Faculty is great. Placements are taken care of by the placement cell of that works directly under the leadership of principal. The sports culture in the college is great as well with boxing, cricket, table tennis, football being played regularly.

I enrolled for Bachelor of Commerce. Since, coming from a Humanities background, I thought capturing the basics of the course would be tough but the faculty took care of it. Eligibility for the students now is to clear the cutoff of the CUET examination in any 4 subjects with English being a compulsory one. The admission process of the college is very smooth and frequency of exams is 6 for 6 semesters of the college. The academics prepare you well for the real life as well.

The fee of Bachelor of Commerce is Rs. 13,000 a year that sums up to be around Rs. 40,000. Other charges include examination fee, which needs to be paid for each semester that would be around Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 2,000 depending on the number of practical courses chosen. Special discounts for quota students are provided and for students from economically weaker sections.

The faculty of the college is very supportive and understanding. The practical knowledge the faculty possesses, helps students to be ready for real life scenarios. Addition of Value addition and skill enhancement courses have enabled students to learn more out of the box skills which helps them to be more prepared for the real life. The faculty is very supportive with reference to internships and all, which allows students, learn and implement at the very same time.

The placements at college are quite good. Myself being a part of the placement cell, I can assure that the cell works for the betterment of college and its students. The placement cell is entitled to bring the companies to the college and is responsible for end-to-end work for the placement of the students. Renowned companies that visit the college are Deloitte, EY, LEK Consulting, ZS associates, Accenture, DE Shaw, Alvarez, Marshal, etc. I did not sit for the placements but the placement process is smooth and cell tries to make it as smooth as possible. Average placement packages offered are around 8 to 9 LPA, depending on the roles and fields they are in.

Yes, the college offers residential benefits but only for boys right now. There are plans for girl’s accommodation as well. Total number of rooms in the hostel are 90, which can accommodate 180 students in total. The mess food is good and it is available for both preferences: vegetarian and Non-vegetarian. Hostel fee is around Rs. 70,000 a year that turns out to be around Rs. 6,000 for a month. Hostel rules and timings are not very strict but a time of 11:00 PM is set as deadline. I personally do not stay at the hostel but my friends do.

The infrastructure of the college is good with most of the basic necessities fulfilled. Sadly, the auditorium was destroyed in a fire but it is being reconstructed and may be completed by 2027. The library is my favorite part of the college with abundance of books available and great reading areas. There are two academic auditoriums and a seminar hall as well which are responsible for handling all the events currently in the college.

My overall campus life has been great. I have made great friends here, which I hope remain with me for a lifetime. Being a part of Kirori Mal College has made me meet likeminded people, which complement your mindset. The college crowd is great. There are many clubs that one can be a part of ranging from dance to music to quiz to consulting. ‘Renaissance’ is the annual fest of Kirori Mal College, which is hosted at a large scale.
