My Journey At UEC

Overall Rating
I am in my 2nd year in Mechanical Engineering in Ujjain Engineering College. My overall experience is good. College faculties are experienced and they are very helpful. I chose this particular college because this Institute is in my home town and it has value for money. This Institute is 70 years old so it has great alumni network. TPO cell of this college is working continuously and helpful for students.
 

Academics Rating
I chose B.Tech in mechanical engineering. I have great interest in robotics and in core. As mechanical engineering branch in our college is very good so I chose this branch without any hesitation. All faculties in our branch are IIT graduates and they are very helpful. Eligibility criteria for this college are that you need to give JEE mains examination. Admission process is given according to JEE result and on a website of MPDTE. Frequency of examination is quite similar to other colleges. 2 mid sems and final exam in four months. Academics of this college are very helpful as we have great labs.
I chose mechanical engineering in Ujjain engineering college. Fees of this course are Rs 25,000 per year. Fee for TFW students are around Rs. 1,200 and fee of ST, SC, OBC, and General student remains same. There is a scholarship of Rs. 30,000 for OBC and Rs. 55,000 for ST, SC students. Fee of this college is around Rs. 1,00,000 for four years.
 

Faculty Rating
In mechanical engineering department all faculties are IIT graduate. Our HOD is post doctorate in the field of fluid and thermal engineering from Tel Aviv University Israel. All faculty members are very helpful and very straightforward. They are very simple and they teach us very dedicatedly. Our teachers teach us using smart boards, from books, from group discussion, black board, etc. The problem solving abilities of our faculties is very good. You can go anytime to them. They can solve your problem. Teacher student ratio is about 1:6. My bonding with faculties is very good.
 

Placement Rating
Placement cell in our college is very active as it approaches new companies. Placement cell gives training to students for interview and exams. They help us to improve our communication skills. Companies like TCS, Yash Technology, Jk Tyre, UltraTech Cement, and Denso are top recruiting companies in our college.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, Ujjain Engineering College offers residential facilities. We have 1 hostel for boys of capacity around 200 students and 5 hostels for girls of capacity around 150 each. Girl’s and Boy’s hostels are separate in our college.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Ujjain Engineering College has one main building in which departments is divided. Civil and mechanical are oldest department of my college. Mechanical engineering department is the biggest department in our college. Our classrooms are very big. It has capacity of 100 students. Academic facilities like library, labs and seminar Hall is also available. Our labs are up to date and IIT Indore setups 3 labs in our college especially for mechanical engineering department. Canteen of our college is not good. We have two sports events in a year and department fest is also there.
 

Campus Rating
My overall campus life at Ujjain Engineering College is pretty good and I have great experience in our college. The campus is not so big but it is surrounded by greenery. Extracurricular activities like sports, techevwnts are also organized. Annual fests named as Aayam is hosted by college. Each branch has its own events. Mechanical engineering department has Mech Tech Meet (MTM), central India’s biggest event and it is very popular in all IIT’s. In our event big colleges participate and enjoy the event.

Civil engineering is the main branch of the college so chose civil department. Nirma, aayam, eco, and many tech programs have organised by the college and students.     Our college is spread over 2500 acres of land. Children from different places come to study in our college. In our college, along with studies, attention is also given to other activities so that our knowledge increases so that the children can move ahead in their life and in this society which can help and make our society aware. 75% attendance is necessary in our college.     This college was built by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in 1966. Later it was declared autonomous. This college makes the life of the students easier. More than a thousand students' study in this college. This college occupies a land of 300 acres. This college offers technical degrees like B.Tech and M.Tech.
