Data Science at IPSA Indore

Hello, I'm Divya Ramnani pursuing Bachelor of Technology in Data Science from IPS Academy, Indore. I currently in my 3rd year so my experience was good the classes are schedule properly and some of the teachers teaches you so well that you can't fear in exam of that subject and some of the teachers are very supportive. They tell you what next you can do and where you start your first internship. They provide you various resources and the college offers training and internship certificate in 4th semester but that training course are paid. But you can do internship outside also. They only need the certificate to showcase in your resume. So now I will tell you that why I choose this stream Data Science because the demand for the data scientists nowadays are so high and I interested in Mathematics and Data so I choose this stream that suited me best. The sports activities are brilliant in IPS like they have a horse riding also in there campus. The campus of IPS is so big from the rest of the private colleges of Indore.

The course I choose for myself is Data Science because I was Interested in Data, Machine Learning, and Mathematic a lot and the demand for this subject nowadays are good. So if you are interested in this you can enroll for the same. The Eligibility are you must complete the 12th and you must attempt the JEE Mains with decent scores. Without JEE Mains you can also apply as there are 2 counselling. first is based on JEE Mains if you have 80+ in your Mains you will get the scholarship based on the eligibility criteria of your chosen course and second is based on your 12th marks. That’s all you need to get admission in this college. The Frequency of exams is basically same for all departments. First they have 2 Midterms exams and then the End semester exams. The exams are designed by the authority of IPS because the college is an autonomous college. The academics are moderate. They have all the old subjects also but the new one's also for you to gain the latest knowledge for your future.

The fees I paid were about Rs. 1, 24,700 per year and Rs. 62,350 per semester. The fees details are first including tuition fees for all the four years was Rs. 1,24,700 per year and the admission and registration fees are for the one time when you go for the admission. That was like Rs. 2,500 and may be are higher nowadays, you can check in official IPS website. As per the end semester exam, you have to pay the exam fees of like Rs. 2,550 for all the end semester exams. The special discounts are only the scholarship option you have but for that you must have at least 80+ percentage in your JEE Mains entrance exams. If you are OBC and SC, ST category student you have a scholarship option for the government that's all I know about the scholarships.

The faculty members in Data Science are some of good and some of decent nature. The background of faculty members was so great and best some of them have completed the degree from the IIT's and NIT's and various good colleges in India. Their knowledge is so good. The way of teaching of some of the teachers is very nice but other one's are not on point. They don't have the accurate and best knowledge that are required in nowadays. They use the blackboards and smart boards for the theory and computers labs for the implementations and practical teaching. The computers in the labs are not so good. They have all the old GBs that can't works nowadays for the downloading so that was the minus point. The teachers-student ratio at IPS Academy is around X: 1 which ensures personalized attention in classes due to manageable teacher-student ratio. faculty members are able to interact with students and provides mentorships. My experiences and bonding with the faulty are moderate. Some of the teachers are so nice, they provide you mentorships and tell you how you get the jobs, what are your positive and negative sides, and how you can overcome this. They try to support you in your studies but all you need is listening to them and work hard.

The Placement Cell is there in the IPS Academy. The placement cell helps us in the communication and various aspects we need for the interview. They give us all the Data Structure, algorithm sheets and various resources to make us ready for the interviews and various rounds of the placement. The College has various placement related activities and programs. They conducted different sessions in the college for the placements. They tell us that how to get the placements and how to prepare for the placements and interviews rounds. The companies that can come in IPS Academy are TCS, Deloitte, Wipro, etc. The Packages they offered were highest packages of around 12 LPA – 13LPA. The Average package is 7 - 8 LPA, and the lowest is 2 - 3 LPA.

IPS Academy offers hostel but only for the girls. They give 1 room for the 3 students and mess food facilities are also there. The mess food quality is very good. They give the breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Hostel fees are like Rs. 1, 00,000 per year and mess fee is not added in the hostel fee. The Hostel Rules are very strict you can come in the hostel around 6 in the evening sharp and you can walk in the campus till around 8 in the night. That’s it you can't go beyond the time that's all I know about the hostel.

The college infrastructure is so good and very green. There are various Blocks like there are A block and C block for all the Engineering departments and the B block for the Computer Application department. That was all I know about the blocks in the college. The structure was in the blocks shape, all the IPS college structure is in the form of blocks. It is a red + brown bricks like college. The IPS Academy is in the Rajendra Nagar Indore, the campus size is 56 acres. The classrooms and size of engineering departments are decent. 4 big Auditorium, huge Library and decent labs are there in the campus. The canteen is also there in the campus which is nearby placement cell. The medical rooms are also there in the campus. The Sports facilities are brilliant in the IPS Academy. They have horse riding in the campus which was so nice and different from other colleges. The Security and transports are also moderate. In the campus there are various small gardens to sit and in the Law building there was also a small garden which was so nice and green. I like to sit there, and the college has a big ground that was so nice and it was a good place to sit and play.

My Campus life at IPS Academy was nice. The College crowd is huge sometimes in the fests. The college has various clubs like Google Developer Student Club [GDSC], IPS Dance Club, IPS Singing Club, IPS Developer Club, etc. I also was part in various clubs that was so good to gain knowledge from our seniors and implement that in our real-life challenges. The college has various extracurricular activities. There were clubs like National Cadet Corps (NCC), there certificate has also a big achievement. Also, the students at IPS Academy are required to choose a subject from sports, dance, and other activities; students can choose any of these subjects as per their interest. That was so nice and refreshing for the busy schedule of college. The annual fests / event of the college is organised for about 3 days. The first day is all about the Anand Mela. (Anand Mela was all about food stalls), the second day is all about the cultural activities and Talent rounds, and the third day is all about all the dance and ramp walks. The fests are conduct in the month of February. My Experience at IPS Academy was nice and decent. The college life was good. All you need is live, do hard work and make your life like you want.
