Overall Rating
My overall experience at Dr. MGR. Janaki College of Arts and Science was very decent. I chose BBA because that aligned with my career goals and interest. The particular reason to join this college was because the fee is affordable and also the college is nearby to my home. I will suggest people who are looking for affordable college in Chennai can go for this college. The college is not that active in conducting any cultural, competitions, events, cultural at all this the main drawback which I will say. Other than this is a decent college to study. Comparatively it is affordable to other colleges in Chennai.
 

Academics Rating
I chose BBA bachelors of business administration at Dr. MGR. Janaki College of Arts and Science, because it aligns with my career goal and interest. The enrolling and registration process was very smooth and quick. There is no need of any requirements. They give seats on first come first serve basis. The eligibility criteria are that we have to give one basic aptitude and math test on entrance exam. There will be semester exam every year, and internals and other assessments will be conducted on weekly and monthly basis. They teach basics of business administration. They also teach industry topics and provide its exposure.
The fee structure is paid year wise at Dr. MGR. Janaki College of Arts and Science. You have to pay the fee each semester. I paid Rs. 45,000 for each semester; totally I paid Rs. 1, 35,000 for the 3 years. Other than that they will charge Rs. 800-1000 rupees as exam fee for semesters. The Rs. 1,35,000 includes tuition fees and lab fees. Registration fees and admission fee we have to pay it separately. Yes, there are scholarships for reserved category students like ST/SC. Financial aid scholarship will only be provided to students from reserved category.
 

Faculty Rating
Teachers and HOD at Dr. MGR. Janaki College of Arts and Science are very supportive and friendly. They are very knowledgeable and good mentors too. All the faculty members are well educated in the specific filed. They teach us using the blackboards, and conduct weekly group discussions about specific topic. They are very supportive and they resolve all our problems. The teacher student ratio is very decent. They are very approachable and kind and they provide all the required knowledge to the students.
 

Placement Rating
The placement cell is below average. Only 4 companies visit the campus regularly that are Sutherland, Garuda Aeroscope, Bajaj Finserve and other finance companies. The average package would be Rs. 1,00,000 to 2,00,000. There is no guarantee on placement. I had 4 offers but I declined due to low package.
 

Hostel Rating
There is no hostel facility. Students have to find accommodation on own. There is no mess in the campus as well.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure of Dr. MGR. Janaki College of Arts and Science is very good and well maintained. There will be full green trees, birds and other pet animals around the campus which give pleasant feel and peace of mind. The campus size is very large and spacious. Classrooms are of compact size. The benches and chair are not well maintained. There is a big library and it is accessible to everyone but the books are outdated and limited access is provided. The seminar hall and auditorium is big and air conditioned. There are 3 canteens which are good and affordable. I love my teachers who are supportive and friendly.
 

Campus Rating
Personally my campus life was average. As I mentioned earlier there are no fests or extra activities organized. It may get boring sometimes because there is no mode of entertainment. The college crowd is very big. Yes, there are several clubs like youth club, red cross club, blue cross, sports club, IT club, etc.
