My Experience in PESCE, Mandya

Overall Rating
Currently, I am a second year student at PES College of Engineering. It's not my dream college. I entered this college through Karnataka State Entrance Exam. To be honest the infrastructure is quite old but the ambience is good as everywhere you will find greenery. Unlike in other places where it is difficult to reach college early, here there is no issue for it. College administration provides free bus facilities from bus stop to college.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen BE in Electronics and Communication as it offers opportunities to learn both software and hardware. Through management seat or through state entrance exam with good ranking we can enter to this Institute. You have to fill the application form and deposit the fee in bank followed by document verification.. In every particular branch there are two semesters per year. In each semester there are 2 tests with one semester end exam. Academics will help you and train you for life through knowledge, critical thinking and problem solving skill.
I got Government aided seat. I used to pay around Rs. 65,000 every year. The examination fee is Rs. 4,200, skill lab fee aided is Rs. 10,000 rupees, library fee is around Rs. 600 rupee and college fee aided is Rs. 10,000. SSP scholarship from government is there for students every year it costs around Rs. 22,000. Around Rs. 40,000 for government seat fee. There is no discount for any category.
 

Faculty Rating
All the faculty members at PES College of Engineering have done their masters, and also have more experience in teaching field. Few faculty members use blackboard initially, when exam comes near they start using PPT to complete the syllabus as soon as possible. This affects students most of the time as then the course speed enhances. As our department is having 3 sections for each year students, they allocate different teacher for different subject and section. Most of the faculties are friendly with students.
 

Placement Rating
PES College of Engineering is having a good placement cell with well experienced training placement officer. From first year only placement classes are taken (basic level). In second year programming language is taught. Many technical related activities are conducts in the premises like Hackathon and conferences. Renowned companies like Zenken from Japan, Accenture, Byjus, Benz, HP, HCL, RedBus, Vollet, IBM, Nokia, etc. come here to offer placement. Recent news about highest package in 2024 is 21 LPA and average salary is 5 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
PES College of Engineering also provides hostel facility to those who are far away from college. I don't know exact count but I guess it’s around 200 rooms and around 400 members. Yes, girls and boys hostel are separate. Boys hostel is situated inside the campus and girls hostel is outside the campus. Hostel fee is Rs. 50,000 per year for triple sharing and for double sharing its Rs. 57,000. Personally, I don't like the food here. The hostel opens at 5:30 AM and closes at 7 PM every day.
 

Infrastructure Rating
To be honest the buildings are quite old and now they are improving it. Classrooms are good and it can accommodate 60 students along with good projector facility. Good academic facilities are provided like labs, seminar hall and free transport facility. We don't have medical facility. Canteen facility is there but not up to our expectation. The ambience is very nice. Recently construction is going on in the campus and, that disturb us a lot in classroom. No one takes responsibility of that issue.
 

Campus Rating
There are few clubs like IEEE, ISTE, Ennovate, GDG, etc. I am part of IEEE and Ennovate club. Personally I don't engage in college activities. Other students engage in all the activities conducted in the college. College also conducts hackathon, conferences, technical and non technical events. Our college conducts a big event every year called PESCO. I have has average experience at PES College of Engineering.

    Overall best college as per sports and academic. It puts a lot of effort on sports and curriculum activities. But the placement is on a little bit lower side. Average package is 3-4 lakh and highest is 14 lakh. Students and teachers are friendly.... Read Full Review

    The institute gave us a great opportunity. From our first year, we could work in our interested area. The sports facilities are better than other colleges in the area. The faculty and staff are very helpful. As I am from the north, many people said I will face racism in the south, but in this college, there is nothing like that.     I would say that our college is good location wise, but it has small campus and no canteen after 5 pm. There is not much of a college life here, and rules are strict here.
