IILM University for Engineering Students: Faculty, Curriculum, and Placements

Overall experience of IILM University would be decent. It has experienced faculty, and great learning environment. While it may not be the best university, it does provide an industry level curriculum and extracurricular activities. I choose this one as I saw it as a best option in terms of distance and placement.

I chose Bachelor in Technology (Computer Science), a 4-year course. The entry requirements are simple, you just need to clear an exam organized by them and take part in the counseling. it is held online. Eligibility criterion to sit for this exam is that candidate should have at least 60% in boards and should not have backlog in any subject. Exams are held twice per semester, which are mid semester exam and end semester exam. Mid-semester exams are of 50 marks while end semester exams are of 100 marks. The difference in this that this university provide industry level subjects and cut out the most useless subjects saving us time and helping in creating professional from 1st year.

The semester wise fee is Rs. 94,000 per semester and year wise Rs. 1,82,000 including tuition fee, registration fee, and all other miscellaneous charges. The total fee for B.Tech is 8.4 Lakh.. Rs. 30,000 was the registration fee and Rs. 500 was exam fee. No discount is provided based on category but it does provide merit based discounts. If a student has good JEE or board score, they give 10 to 30% off on tuition fee.

The faculty is amazing. Every teacher has great knowledge in their respective subjects and teach very well. Most of the faculty members have higher degree or Masters in their relevant fields from top colleges like IIT Delhi. The method of teaching varies from teacher to teacher. Few teacher prefer chalk and board method if the subject needs explanation and high skills. on the other hand, for the subjects like communication skills, teachers use very well written PPTs. the student to teacher ratio is 65:1. The teachers are very friendly and help most of the time.

The placements are not up to the mark. The placement cell is very helpful but student lack skills so there's nothing placement cell can do. The cell tries it best to place as many students as possible and last year placement percent was 67%. For placement, teachers provide extra training and exam practice like communication and speaking classes. Renowned companies that visit our college are mostly startups or mass hiring companies like Infosys, HCL, Tata, etc. The usual package is around 3 to 4 Lakh Per Annum.

The university has really green and clean campus. The academic block includes 2 buildings. 1st building is IGSM, which has students of courses other than B.Tech. 2nd building is called SVH, which includes all B.Tech students. We have very huge classrooms and projector is present in every classroom. Library, Labs, and Halls are all well furnished , nicely build, and very spacious. We have 3 canteens and 4th one is under construction. Transport is not provided by the college but metro station is in walking distance from college. I like the campus’ ground really green and pretty.

Overall, campus life is decent. The crowd is vast. There are many students and all are from different states. Hence, the college has great diversity. There are 10 clubs in total, ranging from singing to dancing and even coding clubs. I'm part of google club. Events and fests organized by the IILM University include Ignite, Mosaic, etc. The event, Ignite is usually held in March and Mosaic at end of February.
