BMSIT Bangalore's Admission and Fee Structure

The reason I chose BMS Institute of Technology and Management over other institutes was because of its reputation among engineering colleges in Bengaluru. It also has a good reputation and rankings for academics and placements. It gives students strong placement opportunities with companies like TCS, Infosys, and Accenture. The campus has modern facilities, a good library, and well-equipped labs. The faculty is knowledgeable; peer groups have bright students which makes the learning process more fun and engaging.

The course Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) is industry-oriented, blending technical knowledge with business applications, which is unique and in high demand as of the present industry scenario. Admission to BMS Institute of Technology and Management is based on KCET and COMEDK. The cutoffs vary every year but generally fall within the competitive range. Some students also get admission through management quotas, which have higher fees with no cutoffs. They conduct 3 internals and 1 external in one sem.

I got admission through KCET SNQ and since it is a fee waiver scheme, my fee for the 1st year was Rs. 32,000 only and for 2nd year, it was reduced to Rs.24,000. But the fees vary according to quota and based on the counseling type. Through KCET the fees might be less in comparison to COMEDK. The management quota fee is Rs. 4,50,000 per year for my course, and it remains the same for all 4 years. But the fees for others could vary every year.

Most professors teaching in our department hold Ph.D and the others who hold M.Tech are currently pursuing Ph.D in their respective domains. Some have experience in industry particularly in AI, ML, and Cloud Computing. Faculty members use a mix of the basic chalk and talk method where some prefer using modern tech like projectors and teaching while displaying a presentation. Faculty also likes to teach by making students work on projects, case studies, and industry visits to make the students better understand the concepts.

The campus is spread over 21 acres of land which includes the campus of BMS Institute of Technology and Management and BMSSA as well as the college hostel. BMS Institute of Technology and Management is divided into 3 blocks. The academic block is for all the core branches like Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and others. Whereas the BSN block is for the IT branches like Computer Science, Information Science, and other allied branches. And lastly, the lab block comprises labs for all branches. There is also food court, bakery, stationary, and also a medical center.

BMS Institute of Technology and Management has a vibrant campus life with a mix of academics, extracurricular and social interactions. The atmosphere is engaging with numerous cubs and societies for students to take part in and indulge themselves with interests beyond their academics. There is Aero club, music, cultural, Rotaract, e-yantra, e-cell, placement cell, NCC, NSS, and many more clubs. There is a cultural fest named Uthsaha Vaibhava which is held even semester every year and a technical fest is held in the odd semester named Tech-Transform everywhere.
