BMSIT&M Bangalore Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules

The BMS Institute of Technology and Management (BMSIT), Bangalore has separate hostels for both male and female students. All the hostels are beautifully designed & are equipped with state-of-the art amenities to provide a home like environment to the students.

The BMSIT&M has approximately 4 hostel blocks, out of which 3 are for boys’ (on-campus) and 1 is for girls’ (off-campus). Moreover, the boys’ & girls’ hostels can collectively accommodate nearly 622 students. Moreover, at the hostels, 2 & 3 seater rooms are available for students. Along with this, the BMSIT&M hostel fees range from Rs. 1,54,000/- to Rs. 1,92,000/- per year.

Students who want to stay within the residential spaces need to fill-in the BMSIT hostel application form and submit the fees directly to the Institution’s bank account. Moreover, the fee differs as per the type of room selected by the students.

Note: Furthermore, for availing the accommodation amenities in the next academic years, students are required to re-register and pay Rs. 10,000/- in advance before the end of even semester.

The BMSIT&M Hostel Committee has set rules and regulations for the students to maintain decorum inside the accommodation premises.

Below-outlined points contain detailed information about some of the major rules & regulations of the Institute’s hostels:

• The gate closing time of girls’ & boys’ hostels is 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM, respectively & will re-open at 6:00 AM. It is compulsory for students to abide by the hostel timings. Moreover, students are allowed to enter their respective hostels after the specified timings only 3 times in a month.
• While residing at the Institute’s accommodation, inmates are expected to maintain silence during the quiet hours i.e., 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM for male students & 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM as it is allotted only for sleeping and studying.
• Ragging and consuming & possessing intoxicating substances is strictly banned at the Institution’s hostels. Any resident who is found guilty of these acts will be expelled from the hostels.
• Hostellers are not allowed to bring any visitors within their rooms without taking permission from their wardens in advance.
• In case hostellers want to leave the residences for more than 24 hours, they need to obtain written permission from the wardens.
• Boarders need to switch off the PCs, fans, and lights before leaving the hostel rooms.
• At the hostels, boarders cannot use any kind of electrical items including heaters, electrical stoves, dryers, AV systems, etc. Any of such items will be confiscated by the wardens.
• It is expected from the students to not to damage or temper the hostel property.
• Safety of the precious items is their own responsibility so students are advised to lock their room & cupboard before going out.

Inside the BMSIT&M Campus, there are about 3 boys’ hostels where around 502 students can stay at a time. Apart from this, the Institute has 1 girls’ hostel which is situated 4 kms away from the campus and has the accommodation capacity of approximately 102 students.

Moreover, for female & NRI / PIO students, both double & twin occupancy rooms are available. On the other hand, twin sharing rooms for boys are available. All the rooms are fully-furnished and have adequate living amenities so that students can reside comfortably.

Inside the BMSIT&M hostels, there are several sports facilities along with a separate gymnasium for the residents. Furthermore, a washing machine has been outfitted in each floor of the hostel blocks.

The BMSIT Bangalore has a mess with dining halls which provides both non-vegetarian and vegetarian meals to the students of North and South Indian cuisines. Furthermore, the mess kitchen has automated equipment to prepare nutritious and hygienic meals for the inmates. Also, the whole mess arena is kept clean through regular pest control and fogging.

Moreover, the mess menu is prepared by the designated in-charges and mess prefects to provide balanced meals to the students. Furthermore, for Nepali students, there is a separate menu in a bouffe style. Other amenities of the mess include dish washing machine, cold storage, etc.

Residents of the BMSIT hostels are required to follow below-given mess timings on working days:

• Breakfast: 07:30 AM to 8:30 AM
• Lunch: 12:30 PM to 2:15 PM
• Snacks: 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM
• Dinner: 08:00 PM to 09:00 PM

Apart from this, it is mandatory for the hostellers to following certain BMSIT&M hostel mess rules, which are given below:

• Students who choose Institution’s hostel facilities should also be members of the mess. Furthermore, they need to sign the mess register during the time of joining the mess.
• Residents are allowed to bring the food inside the room if they are sick and have obtained permission from the wardens.
• Students need to specify their food preference i.e., vegetarian and non-vegetarian at the starting of each academic year.
• At the hostel mess, the non-vegetarian food will only be served once in a week.
• Students (except mess prefects) are forbidden from going inside the kitchen arena.
