KIET University M.Pharm Review By Bandita Devnath

I took admission in KIET Group of Institutions in the corona time. All the admission process were online. In my first year classes was online but in my final year I have done all my classes offline. I choose this college as it is under top 200 pharmacy college in India in NIRF rankings. This college was way better than my expectations. It taught me a lot of things. This college offers lot of opportunities for the students and life at KIET was fun filled with learning and good placements. I think other should join this institute because placements in this institute are way better than other pharmacy colleges in Delhi NCR. I decided to do M. Pharma after my B. Pharma because my teachers and mentor told me that a lot of opportunities would open for me if I do M. Pharma and that also proven right. Right Now I am placed in a good company with a good package.

M. Pharma is post graduation course and provides specific knowledge about the topics of B. Pharma, We have to select the domain in which we wanted to take our career further. There are 4 semesters in this course and each semester end with the university exam followed by the practical. Practical are the tough part of the semester to qualify. Semester exams are easy to qualify. One can qualify in the exam just by studying. But if wanted to pursue career in this field then you need to study consistently whole semester. To become eligible in this course student must have done their B. Pharma form a recognized university. I choose this course because it can make me a better pharmacist. This course offers a great learning to the students.

Faculty at KIET School of Pharmacy are very good . They all have done their PhD and done job in the industries. There is one teacher over 30 students and there is one mentor teacher over 15 students. In my course many teacher have done their PhD from very reputed college in India like Jamia Hamdard University, Birla Institute of Technology and Institute of Chemical Technology. All teacher are well qualifies and provide a great teaching on the topics and their style of teaching is also good. As they say everything cannot be right. Yes there are also bad teacher in the institute. They just come to college for the salary not to teach. Other than the subject faculties. Management staff is very rude sometimes and they do not behave well with the students. Lab instructors are best and I feel sometimes that they have more knowledge than the subject teachers.

Yes Placement Cell is present in KIET Group of Institutions and it called CRPC. Placement cell at KIET is very active they call you when you do not apply for any job. Placements start in third semester and students start to appear for the company recruitment processes. Many good companies visit the campus every year. I was amazed when I saw very top pharmaceutical companies visit campus every year. In my batch 90 percent students got placed in good companies and I also got placed. In my batch average Package was 8 LPA which is very good for a private pharmacy institute. Highest package was of 16 LPA in Mankind Pharma. Yes Mankind Pharma visits the campus each year. There are many good companies like Sun Pharmaceutical, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Lupin, Cipla etc which visits the campus each year and offers great package for the students.

Hostels are average at KIET. They have all the facilities in the hostel rooms like Wi-Fi availability, well maintained rooms with sufficient space. In hostel we live with the B. Tech Students and It is a great fun to live with the juniors in hostel. Security is very good in KIET hostel. Each time we go out we have to entry in the college register to go out of the campus. Sometimes It feels very frustrating but Then it feels that it is good for the security. One downside of the KIET hostel is the mess. They do not offer good food to the students. And one thing also that I disliked about the college hostel is the fee. I think fee is very high for the students. They charge around 1 Lakh for one seat. Rooms are generally 2 seater or 3 seater and I feel fee is very high for the facilities they provide.

KIET Group of Institutions Campus Infrastructure is good. Especially the KIET School of Pharmacy is very well designed and it also has a medical clinic for the student for free. Classrooms are fully equipped with the modern technology like classrooms has smart board and projectors and class room have the access of Ethernet. Labs are also having the all equipment in the college. And there is also a research center in the college for the Medicines. There is a central library available in the college that provides every book we want to study. College also provides space for the self study. College canteen is also a good place for the fun. College has a temple for the students. There are two big grounds in the college and maintenance work is always on in the campus.

Life in KIET is great in last semester because almost everyone gets placed and this semester we make many great memories in the campus. I lived just one year in the college because one year was online due to COVID but in my one year at campus gave me lot of memories to enjoy. Life at KIET is full of fun and tension of university exam nut overall it was a good experience and it gave me much more than a job. Fests were not organized because of the Covid outbreak in first year. But in my second year two fests were organized in the college. There are many clubs present in KIET like KIET Drama Society, KIET Coders Club, KIET Fashion Society and KIET MUN, Ted X KIET, KIET Music Club etc.
