SRM University Amaravati's Expansive 100-Acre Campus

At first when I saw SRM University Amaravati, I liked the infrastructure. The positive point of this university is its ambience. I am having a good experience in this university. I have heard that the placements are average good because of the recession.

I have chosen B.Tech CSE core (I didn't take any specializations). The reason of not joining any specialization is that I didn’t know them before joining B.Tech but we can change it in the 5th semester. Entry requirement is that you should be passed out your 12th class. In addition, there are two ways of getting admission in this, university they are you should write SRMJEE and you should get qualified and get a good rank in it. In addition, the another way is AP EAMCET. You should get a rank of below the university cutoff. There will be one mid-exam and one end semester exam for every semester.

The fee of the chosen course is Rs. 3,60,000 per year. the admission fee is Rs. 10,000. We have to pay semester exam fee separately during final exam. During registration, we must pay Rs. 1,200. Students can avail some scholarship according to the rank of entrance exam.

The faculty members who teach us are knowledgeable but that will differ from person to person. In this university, many faculty members are from Northern part of the country. Some faculty members are somewhat strict but some are lenient. Every faculty member uses PPTs for teaching the students. They will use smart board as well as the white board. Some of the faculty members conduct group discussions among us which are really helpful and crucial.

As mentioned earlier, the main attraction of the university is infrastructure. Although the campus is located 8 KMs away from city. The size of SRM University Amaravati is approximately 100 acres. The construction work is still going on. There are mainly 5 academic blocks which are named of great scientists’ names. Each building has more than 5 floors. Just some small villages are around the university. The classrooms have approximately 50 to 70 seating capacity. We also have 2 libraries and one was recently built. But in labs, some of the equipment need to be replaced. There is also an auditorium and a mini auditorium. In every academic block, we will have at least 1 canteen. There is a 24/7 medical. For transportation, we are having approximately 50 buses.

My overall campus life is good. There are approximately upto 9,000 to 10,000 students. There are 20 + clubs for example e-cell, cinemates, sports, anime, etc. There are many games in sports club. I am part of Cinemates club and it is about filmmaking, which is my passion. Few engagement activities are conducted by the university. However, I do hope that it organizes some activities and events in the future. There will be celebration of different fests and events. I want to explore more campus life of the university as I am just 1st year now.
