My Candid Views on SIST Chennai

Overall Rating
SIST Chennai is the one of the best institutes for Engineering stream, especially for those students want to pursue Software specialisation. As a current student, I can confidently say that if you utilize the opportunities provided at the institute, you can achieve your academic & professional goals.
 

Academics Rating
My reason for selecting Data Science is that it is a rapidly growing domain within the B.Tech CSE program. If students are not sure about their subject, I suggest them to take general CSE which includes different areas like DS, AIML, AI, etc. This can help you discover your field of interest.
The fee structure of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology is somewhat high. For my branch the fee is around 3.5 LPA. The fees may be less for other B.Tech courses like ECS, EEE, IT, etc.
 

Faculty Rating
The teacher student ratio is 1:40. The faculties are very friendly with all the students and most of them have with high industrial & theoretical experience. If you are from other states, you will not face any language barriers at the institute as the lectures will be conducted in English.
 

Placement Rating
The main factor which made me join this institute was the excellent placement percentage. It offers around 90 % of placements for the students. A large number of students get recruited with high package. Till now, the highest package of the institute is 55 LPA, whereas the lowest package is 3.5 LPA. Many students get employed at leading companies like Amazon, Myntra, TCS, Wipro, etc.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel fee depends on the type of accommodation chosen by the student. For the year 2025-2026, non-AC room fees is Rs. 1,10,000 and the AC room fees is Rs. 2,20,000.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The huge campus of the institute is spread across approximately 259 acres of land. It has various buildings, green spaces, canteens, parking places, etc. My favourite thing in campus is the library which is very big with AC on the 1st floor and fans on the ground floor. The library provides students a place to study in silence.
 

Campus Rating
In my opinion, the institute offers outstanding campus life. You will not feel any regret after joining this institute. The campus environment will make you feel comfortable even if you are from other states. There is no ragging or violence. The institute conducts various fests every year which are attended by celebrities and famous personalities. You can also utilise the bus service which is free for all the students throughout the Chennai.

    I took Electronics and Communication Engineering and I must say the college is pretty nice. They will try to teach you unlike other colleges just conducting events and not at all teaching anything. There will be both studying and extracurricular activities if you are interested.
