My Opinion on SIST Chennai: Best Facilities & Education

Overall Rating
I am studying Law in SIST Chennai; this institute is one of those 2nd tier institutes for both Engineering and other courses. Since I study Law, this institute provides very good Legal academics than other institutes around the city. This institute gives various opportunities and exposure in Legal field. We have well qualified staff and best support to excel in all fields. They provide good placement opportunity for the students of all departments.
 

Academics Rating
I chose 5 years integrated Law course, B.A.LL.B. This course has 10 semesters in total and I found this institute provides better quality syllabus than other private institutes. I was selected through merit score. The admission process is easier and online application is also available. We have 2 internal exams and 1 final sem exam for a semester.
I paid 1.5 Lakh per year. This might have increased now. The institute provides scholarship programs for merit students.
 

Faculty Rating
All faculties of our department are well qualified and experienced. The faculties are post graduates and PhD holders. The method of teaching is integrated with PPTs, PDFs, videos and black board methods. Notes are provided by all on regular basis. The teaching methods are very good, easily understandable. No teachers have biasness or partiality towards the students and every opportunity is provided to all students.
 

Placement Rating
Since my course has no placement, yet those who opt for corporate side of legal practices, they get good placement to companies such as Zoho, Tech Mahindra and other companies.
 

Hostel Rating
There are separate boy's and girl's hostel facility available for every student. They have both AC and non-AC options. Annually, 1.1 Lakh for non-AC hostel and 2 Lakh for AC hostels is to be paid by the students. Clean and hygienic food is provided along with snacks and coffee every day.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Each department of SIST Chennai has a separate building with clean and hygienic restrooms on each floor. Each block has drinking water dispenser, some classrooms are air-conditioned and some are ventilated with fans. The institute has 3 main mess buildings with free food for every student. There is a canteen with verity of food options available. The institute provides free bus facility for all routes for everyone. The institute has well equipped labs and auditorium too. It has a large basketball and tennis court for sports. Every place in the institute is Wi-Fi enabled.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life of our institute is good. The strength of the institute is about 3,000 students. The institute has various clubs, which conduct club events and activities now and then, any student can be a part of any club of their choice. There are some events occasionally. SIST Chennai conducts cultural events, once every year which is known for its grandeur around the city. The institute maintains a strict and secure environment.

    I took Electronics and Communication Engineering and I must say the college is pretty nice. They will try to teach you unlike other colleges just conducting events and not at all teaching anything. There will be both studying and extracurricular activities if you are interested.
