SIST Chennai is Deemed to be University

If Universities are given a quality award, then SIST Chennai truly deserves that. Even though it is a Deemed to be University but students of various different upbringings and background study here and language has been one of the major issues. In my final year and without any complaints I can admit that I had a blast at my University.

Some Special Aspects of My University i.e., SIST Chennai:
• Strict Academic Culture but Highly Supportive Teachers.
• Placement Percentage (Rate) for B.Tech ranges from 80% to 85%.
• Ease in Commute due campus is near to bus stops and metro station.
• Promotes Inclusivity and Offers Excellent Campus Life.

Everything is provided inside the classrooms and therefore just one book and a pen is more than sufficient during classes here. Academics are strict as classes are held for 7 to 8 hours daily but luckily weekends we have off and that is the only layoff we have from academics here. Exams are held timely i.e., twice in each semester.

Rs. 2,20,000/- is our per semester fees as for native state students. we are also given 10% scholarship.

On personal front, faculties' teaching has endeared me enormously. They have passed on every bit of information or skills that they have. I would have scratched my head time in and time again if I had to manage students who have doubts which are endless. They haven't though and thereby have taught everyone the virtue of patience too along with engineering studies

In recent times, around 80% to 85% students have been placed.

Hostels are there at the Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology Chennai but they can defined as average. I have seen majority of students staying outside as in lesser price that University hostels, better options are available.

The best thing is that bus stop is less than 50 metres away from our campus and in less than a kilometer away, we have a metro station too. Therefore, first the biggest challenge in Chennai, which is commuting, is not an issue with our University. Since the campus is huge, there are as many as three canteens and all of them in different corners of the campus.

SIST Chennai has invited top leaders and actors in every annual event. This shows the kind of budget the University has to host events. Apart from language challenge, which I saw in my first year which many North Indian as well as some foreign students faced, University campus life is so peaceful. I was a part of 2 clubs, both of them helped me upskill myself, and likewise any student studying here can upskill himself or herself as much as they want.
