My honest experience at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai

Overall Rating
The institute was suggested by my relatives. My honest experience at the institute for one and a half years was good. I belong to the ECE department where the professors are great and well experienced.
 

Academics Rating
There are two ways you can join the institute; one is via Entrance Test and the latter is Management. If you are thinking of joining this institute my suggestion would be write the Entrance Test, because you will be given some priority over management students regarding fees. The fees will be greatly reduced if you enroll via Entrance Test.
 

Faculty Rating
I can perfectly vouch for the faculties of Electronics department. The people I came across were genuinely intelligent and experienced in their fields. Of course, there is a scope for growth, but their standards are good enough to teach B.Tech students efficiently; but if you wish for more, they will always encourage you but at the end of the day your willingness to know more matters.
 

Placement Rating
They make sure to invest hardwork in placements. The placement training starts in the 2nd year itself. If you are willing to appear for placement rounds, then you should definitely check out their placement program. Keep an eye on the tests they conduct. At the end of the day only your hard work pays off.
 

Hostel Rating
Honestly this is something the institute lacks. The infrastructure of the hostel is average. One good thing is that there are no extra food charges. You can eat as many and as much as you want.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is very big. You can never truly explore the whole institute. The classrooms are massive but can be upgraded like addition of projectors. The labs are the best part of the institute.
 

Campus Rating
Normally, there are many events taking place but to attend you must have a written permission letter signed by the department's HOD's. Both technical and non-technical events are conducted here.

    I took Electronics and Communication Engineering and I must say the college is pretty nice. They will try to teach you unlike other colleges just conducting events and not at all teaching anything. There will be both studying and extracurricular activities if you are interested.
