IIIT Bhubaneswar: Admission Requirements

International Institute of Information Technology is a government institute which provides excellent academic and non-academic facilities to the students. It is far better than any private college. The faculties and hostel facilities at the institute are good. Students are provided brilliant placement opportunities at the institute. The campus environment is great because students get to participate in various events and activities. I highly recommended this institute to the students.

The institute offers different specializations within the Engineering domain such as CSE , CE , IT , EEE, etc. It is a good choice for students who want to pursue Computer Science branch. JEE Main score is required for getting admission in this institute. Odisha domicile students get 50% quota which increases competition for non-state students. The institute conducts communication classes and workshop sessions where students can improve their professional skills.

The faculties at the institute are highly qualified and most of them have either completed their PhD or M.Tech degree in their respective subjective. They teach really well because many of them have more than 10 year of experience. The curriculum and syllabus is old fashioned which needs to be improved. Exams of total 100 marks are held every semester. This includes 1 quiz of total 15 marks, 1 mid-semester exam of 30 marks, 1 end-semester exam of 50 marks, and rest of the marks are given on the basis of students’ personality / behaviour marks. Relative CGPA is calculated at the institute, which means that the scores of your classmates will affect results.

On-campus placement is offered at International Institute of Information Technology. Average placement package vary for each branch. For CSE, IT, and CE branches the average package ranges between 10 LPA to 13 LPA, whereas for ETC and EEE branches it is between 7 LPA to 10 LPA. Reputed firms like Oracle, Dell, and TCS visit and hire students from the institute. Recently, about 250 offers were made for batch of 350 students for on-campus placement in the 3rd year.

Residential facilities are offered to the students at the institute. There are 8 hostel blocks with 3 to 8 floors and each floor has 7 rooms. . There is a separate well-built hostel for meritorious students. The institute has 3 member sharing room and personal room available at the hostel. The fees for personal rooms is double than normal sharing rooms which are only available for 2nd year onwards students. The mess is a 1st floor and ground floor mess which provided food 3 times a day. The mess fee is about Rs. 120 per day. Students can choose weekly or monthly plan for mess. However, the food served at the mess is not up to the mark

The infrastructure of the institute is decent and students can find spots for walking and relaxing. The classrooms are well-designed but the labs need to be improved. The institute also has ICT enabled digital classrooms. The library is good with plenty of books. A number of sports facilities are available at the campus. The canteen food is good. The internet facilities on the campus need to be improved because it is situated in the outskirts location.

The campus life is decent because there are a number of student clubs and societies for different activities which positively impact a lot on students’ life. ‘Advaita’ is the annual fest of the institute which is held in the month of March or April. It is celebrated for 3 days. Technical festivals like D3 are also organized on a regular basis. Students can also partake in various sports events and competitions which are conducted twice a year.
