Life at IIIT Bhubaneswar B.Tech CSE

Overall Rating
International Institute of Information Technology, Bhubaneswar is way better than all the other Institutes which I was getting based on my JEE rank. I got Computer Science and Engineering which is by far the best branch here. The placement stats of this Institution are also quite impressive especially in this branch. Hence it also contributed towards me choosing this Institution.
 

Academics Rating
To get admission you have to clear JEE Main and apply in JoSAA and CSAB counseling. In my Institution, there are mainly 2 theory exams in a semester. One mid sem of 30 marks and an end sem of 50 marks with 15 marks is given for quiz and 5 marks for teacher assignments. The curriculum is mostly updated according to new industry standards.
My whole 4 years in International Institute of Information Technology, Bhubaneswar costs about Rs. 13,50,000/- which includes semester fees, admission fees, hostel fees, library and other charges. There is also provision for scholarships for Odisha domicile students
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members are Ph.D graduates and they have ample knowledge in their respective field. Some teachers prefer blackboard style teaching while some prefer PPTs. The teacher-student ratio is sufficient in my Institutions. The teachers are usually very approachable and they help you to clear your doubts if you ask them.
 

Placement Rating
The placement cell of our Institution is very supportive. They usually guide students from 2nd year towards securing a decent placement. Some of the renowned companies that came this year for internships and placements include D E Shaw, Flipkart, Oracle, Zscaler, Dell, and Media.net. The highest package till now is 60 LPA while the average is 10 LPA. There was a recent program conducted by the placement cell which aimed to make students aware about the opportunities and guide us towards the right path.
 

Hostel Rating
Our Institution offers residential facilities in the campus itself. There are various blocks which are allotted to students based on their year of study like first years are allotted K and L blocks. There are total 8 floors and each floor has 7 rooms where 6 being triple sharing and 1 being 4 student-sharing rooms. Girls' and boys' hostels are separate and mess food needs some improvement. The hostel fees are about Rs. 10,000/- per semester which increases slightly in later years.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus size of our Institution is quite small, also remotely located in Bhubaneswar about 15 KMs away from railway stations. The classrooms are well maintained and are very spacious with occupancy of 80 to 90 people. There is one central library and one reading room dedicated for studying purposes. There are 4-5 computer labs and canteen in the campus for the students. Also there is one Nescafe, one general store and a newly constructed gym.
 

Campus Rating
My overall campus life is quite good and the overall crowd is very limited. There are various clubs for people interested in different co-curricular activities (like Tech Society, Cultural Society, Photography Club, and E-cell). I have been part of the Robotics and Automation Society. There is a four day techno-cultural fest called Adavaita, which is a time where students enjoy the most apart from this various events take place regularly in our Institutions like E cell submit, farewell party (called tasveer), freshers party and also every major festival is celebrated here in our campus.

    International Institute of Information Technology is a government institute which provides excellent academic and non-academic facilities to the students. It is far better than any private college. The faculties and hostel facilities at the institute are good. Students are provided brilliant placement opportunities at the institute.     Overall, this college has both advantages and disadvantages. It has a partially good infrastructure and good teachers. It has a partially well college life but in the end, you will enjoy every part of it. It is not like IITs or NITs so it can’t be compared to them but I expected the campus area to be bigger....
