IIIT Bhubaneswar: Good Hostel and Infrastructure

Overall Rating
The campus environment at International Institute of Information Technology is pollution free with greenery everywhere. The faculty is highly qualified and the campus life is just amazing. The hostel life is the most memorable as aspect of the institute. The gender ratio of the institute could be improved.
 

Academics Rating
Overall, the academics and curriculum of the institute are helpful in getting good placements. However, the semester exams are difficult.
The fee structure of International Institute of Information Technology varies for each year. The 1st year fee is Rs. 2,51,400, 2nd year fee is Rs. 2,57,200, 3rd year fees is Rs. 2,71,400, and the 4th year fee is Rs. 2,95,000. The total course fee is Rs. 10,75,000 which includes the hostel fees but do not include mess fees.
 

Faculty Rating
Some of the faculty members have extravagant skill for teaching. They are helpful and offer good guidance. My institute has small student-to-faculty ratios in each branch. This ensures that ample teaching staff is available with no shortages. Some of the teachers are strict, particularly in my branch. Their focus is solely on academic excellence and they are unhesitant in holding students accountable. Senior level professors are friendly and as batch size is small, every student is able to interact with them.
 

Placement Rating
Students become eligible for campus placements in the 5th semester. Almost 90% of students get placed at the institute. The highest package is 42 LPA and the average is 10 LPA. DE Shaw, Dell, Oracle, Infosys, and many more recruiters visit the campus during placement drives. DE Shaw and Dell also offer software development internships with good stipend. The stipend is for 3 months during summer. The projects are related to app development, electronics, and electrical inventions.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel is compulsory for every candidate taking admission in the institute. The hostel rooms are either 3 or 4 occupancy. They are fully furnished with one light, three fans, beds, tables, chairs, and closets provided individually. Students also get free laundry service at the hostel. Meal quality in mess is not that good which can be improved. We need to purchase mess coupons every week. Students can get food from the Nescafe restaurant present in the campus. The hostel fee is Rs. 13,000.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of the institute is average. Every floor has routers and Wi-Fi is available 24/7 with good speed. The campus is cleaned regularly including the classrooms. Library is full of different types of books and even though it's small in size, it's rich in variety. It closes at 8 P.M. Unlike other institutes, the library remains closed at weekends. All departmental labs are present and well-maintained. There is one institute store at the campus. Even though the size of reading room is small, it has fully air conditioned which provides comfortable environment for studying.
 

Campus Rating
‘Advita’ is the annual techno-cultural event conducted at the institute. It usually takes place for 4 days and is one of big fests of Bhubaneswar and is attended by famous celebrities like Arman Malik. Sports events are also organised with both Inter-institute and intra-institute competitions. Apart from this, there are many clubs for different activities like Coding, Dance, Music, Theatre, Art, Photography, etc.

    Overall it is a decent college according to me. This institute is good for those who want CSE at low rank in JEE MAIN. Placements are good and provide good opportunities to students. You can choose this option if you are not getting CSE in NIT and other better IIIT.... Read Full Review

    Overall, this college has both advantages and disadvantages. It has a partially good infrastructure and good teachers. It has a partially well college life but in the end, you will enjoy every part of it. It is not like IITs or NITs so it can’t be compared to them but I expected the campus area to be bigger....     In my opinion, IIIT-Bhubaneswar is just like a normal college. Of course, it is under Odisha Government and has its own funding, benefits, pretty decent infrastructure, etc. But don't be amazed by the name international and all. Also, don't expect too much like IITs and top NITs. It was established only in 2006. So, looking into the development, it’s a good job done by the institute to adapt within this time span....
