Banasthali Vidyapith: A Top Tier 2 University for Women

Banasthali Vidyapith is a women's university. Coming here was my own decision and I do not regret it. If we see the list of tier 2 universities, it is a good university to choose not because it is all girls and we will be safe here for but also for environment, non-judgmental nature of the students here. You can go ahead with any hobby you want to, you can gain confidence. It is good for the students who want to explore nature. As for the flaws, I think it can be ignored as the university definitely makes you strong, adjusting, and independent for the outside world. It is compulsory to follow the dress code in the campus.

I am in the 3rd year of B.Tech. Admission is done based on its own university exam (online) and 60% aggregate in 12th grade. Then, you will get a call you if you are shortlisted. The respective faculty will tell you about branches (CS, CS-AI, EC, EI, & MT) that are available for you to enroll in and give you a date to visit university for a counseling session. One thing, which could be hectic, is the frequency of exams per semester. We had 3 exams (2 periodicals & 1 final) and before finals, we have internals for our lab practicals too. In addition, all of this could be tiring sometimes. Overall, the academic and the experiences prepare you for most of things of real life issues.

The fee of B.Tech is 1.5 Lakh per semester i.e. around 3 Lakh per year, which includes hostel fee, tuition fee, on campus fee, & other expenses (which may include medical charges if you issued medicines from your ID card and various others). I do not think there are any special discounts other than some scholarships on certain conditions for particular students.

Faculty is quite good here. Most of the female staff has done their PhD and Masters from this university itself and the male staff are also decent. There headquarters of the faculty members in also on campus. In 1st and 2nd year, most the knowledge provided is provided on the boards, less of PPTs. They are always available for queries and advices if you ask for. From 3rd year onwards, they might slide to PPTs depending upon the requirement of the subject, they are teaching. Assignments that they give are also interactive sometimes. We also have extra subject until 6 semesters like History, Biology, Human Values, Entrepreneurship, Management, Parenting etc. that some students like and some do not. I personally liked them because they are always providing you extra and important basic knowledge other than core subjects without going into deep of that subject and are also easy to score giving an edge to your CGPA also. Students can approach their teachers easily, there is always given teachers' time, office within the handouts (syllabus structure) provided at the start of the semester, and it is not difficult to approach them.

There is a placement cell in our university. One of the factors other than academics I looked for before admission is placement of this course, which is very good. It may be or may not be good for other courses but B.Tech has a good placement offers every year. We get mail from our placement cell. I remember the companies which came here are JP MORGAN (JPMC), Barclays, Salesforce, UBS, Eaton, Oracle, Flipkart, Deloitte (these were for IT), and other core companies (Bajaj, etc) also do come here. The placement of all the branches is quite fascinating. The average package differs but is good for every branch. Average package for CS & IT branch is 6 LPA to 7 LPA as far I have heard of.

It is compulsory to live in hostel even if you belong to Jaipur. In each room, there are 3 or 4 beds. For Masters students, there are single rooms. Hostel is very good. Rooms are spacious and made with good furniture. Hostels are to be changed every year at the end of even semester of every year. As for mess, there is mess within the hostel. It provides three meals a day. Overall, if you want to enjoy your hostel life you are good to go.

The infrastructure of Banasthali Vidyapith is big enough as it covers the area of 850 acres. There is distinct department for each course. Newly built departments are beautiful and good with comfortable seats and smart boards. Overall campus is very beautiful. There are various canteens in the campus with various food options at an affordable price.

One of the biggest fest happens every year ‘Apaji Mela’ (3-day event) in November and everyone enjoys it very much. One of the big fest organized by B.Tech is ‘Mayukh’ happens in March (3 day fest). It has various activities such as technical competition, dinner night, etc. and everything is enjoyable. Every festival is celebrated here such as Lohri, Holi, and Diwali. The campus life here is mix of all emotions, sometimes you love it, sometimes it is peaceful, and sometimes it is exhausting. It is a mix depends on what is on your mind, life and how you see it. As per my suggestion, it is upto you, you can enjoy every bit of it depending on how you enjoy with yourself and your friends.
