An Unfiltered Student Journey at St. Xavier's College, Ranchi

Overall Rating
Those 3 years at St. Xavier's College, Ranchi was the best in my life. My parents were not allowing me to go outside the city for graduation but since, I cleared my entrance exams forced them to allow me. This college was the best thing that happened to me till now. I chose this because it is one of the best colleges in India. Placement opportunities were good here; also the faculty and infrastructure were best. I will suggest you to get admission here.
 

Academics Rating
I chose B.Com Accountancy Honors. Entrance test was the whole sole requirement for admission that time. Once selected the college would update the roll no on its official website. You need to come to college for document verification and once the fee is submitted your admission is done. The course is divided into 6 semesters. There were 1 mid-sem and 1 end-sem exam per semester. The academics improved my interpersonal and technical skills.
My first year fee was Rs. 27,000 in the year of 2020, then for the second year it was Rs. 21,000, and for the third year it is Rs. 18000. I belong to SC category therefore; the fee was less to some extent. The college had its collaboration with various programs by which SC/ST and OBC students get the scholarships.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members at St. Xavier's College, Ranchi were qualified in nature and their behavior towards the students was friendly. All teachers were having a good scholarly background. Some professors used the blackboard technique and some used the PPTs as well. They had good problem solving mind set. For each 100 student there was 1 professor. I didn't have that much bonding with the professors. However, they are strict in the terms of rules to be followed. There are different professors for each subject.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there was a placement cell in the college. In the last year of the course the HRs of many companies visited the campus to recruitment young minds. The average package was 3.6 LPA to 15 LPA. Though I was not selected in the placement interview.
 

Hostel Rating
The college offered hostel facilities but only for boys. Mess food was average. Hostel Mess fee was Rs. 9,000 for 3 months. Hostel had rules like, no loud music, no intoxicating substance, and be back by 10 PM at night
 

Infrastructure Rating
I would rate academic blocks and campus structure of St. Xavier's College, Ranchi 3.5/ 5. Size of campus was quite large having adequate space. Classrooms were spacious and had good seating capacity. The college had library, labs, seminar hall, auditorium, conference hall, gym service, cafeteria, sports, medical support, security services, etc. My favorite thing in the college infrastructure was its canteen. Canteen was slightly costly but the food taste was awesome. Gym and canteen were open till 6 PM.
 

Campus Rating
My overall campus life was awesome. College had good crowd. There were different clubs for recreational purposes. You will see different extracurricular activity events from time to time. The college also organizes fest and event as well annually. My college life was great. I can say, I have really enjoyed and saw what actually a college life is I have seen 3 fests and 4 events in the entire college life here. You will enjoy a lot in the fest days.

    St. Xavier's College, Ranchi is one of the best colleges of Jharkhand. The infrastructure is one of the best in the city. There are a number of courses available for different streams. The classes are regular and the examinations are taken on time due to the autonomous status of the college. The teachers are very helpful and well trained.     St. Xavier's College is well known all around India and that was one of the main reasons for me to Join this institution. The overall facility provided hear is quite nice and the faculties are also quite good.
