Admission Procedure for BBA (Hons.) at IBS Hyderabad

I am a final year student at ICFAI Business School Hyderabad, pursuing BBA. The overall experience was very good. The lecturers are very understanding, patient, the grading system is fair, and the campus is beautiful. Why I chose this one has several folds, the most important one being the SIP that is their summer internship program. After each year, the students have to enroll and intern at a company for 2 months, and it is mandatory. This helps the students to graduate with 2 internships and hands on experience. This is usually available in MBA colleges and not much in BBA, thus this helped all the students of our batch a lot. I would definitely recommend it to other candidates.

Admission process and criteria are simple. You just have to have 60%+ in 12th standard. No admission tests is needed, just need to appear in one or 2 rounds of interview, which if cleared can get you into IBS. The academic courses are well structured. Each semester gives you 8 subjects and we have 6 semesters. In the final year, u have a variety of options for electives into finance, marketing, HR, operations, supply chain, business analytics and so on All these are very well structured with most of our lectures being PhD professors so that we can learn from the best

The fee structure is simple, admission fee is Rs. 20,000, them in each semester, Rs 1,15,000. Other charges include caution deposit money, that is refundable at the end (during convocation) and hostel or transport charges are updated accordingly. You also get merit based scholarships and also semester wise scholarships based on your performance (only if you have 75% attendance in each subject).

All the facilities are PhD professors and doctors who are experts in their own field. Each student is allotted their personal faculty mentor, who help you throughout your college life. The teaching methods include using whiteboard and a smart screen, which is used to display PPTs, videos, and presentations. Faculties are always very helpful. They give you a certain time every week to clear doubts and the student teacher ratio is 1:80. All the teachers are still friends with the past batches and alumni, and their bonding with students is very healthy & pure.

The placement cell is a student run placement cell that is supervised by the placement officer and the academic dean. The students organize all the placement activities, internship, fairs, and HR in business conclave each year. This helps all the companies to know more about ICFAI business school and around 400 students are placed every year. The highest package is around 7 to 8 LPA. Companies like Zomato, DE Shaw, Wells Fargo, Deloitte, and PepsiCo have already recruited students. The placement process is very smooth. The companies and the college get a very positive review on the whole process.

The hostels are very clean and neat. We have two messes and around five hostels. Girls and boys live separately. I was in hostel for the first year and it was a two sharing or for sharing room; the fees was around Rs. 59,000 per semester. Food was hygienic and good; it was of around Rs. 25,000 per semester. Mess offers your breakfast lunch, very good snack, and dinner as well. The in-timings of the hostel or the main gate is 9 PM. the hostel gates are closed after 11 PM.

The campus size is around hundred acres. It’s a huge campus. Academic blocks are very structured. The classrooms are completely air condition. Washrooms are very neat. Library is very good. Seating capacity is around 80 per class. In addition, auditorium is completely air-conditioned. We have a swimming pool, cricket ground, football ground, badminton ground volleyball arena, and 2 canteens. The favorite thing of mine is the environment and a walkway to go around the campus and it has a roof, so it is cool all around summer.

The overall campus life is very good. It is not just studies. They also value many extracurricular activities. We have around 13 student clubs which are sports club, photography, club, dance club placement, club, cultural club, alumni relationship club, and so on. All these have around 50 students, each recruitments been taking place every year and we have many events. Each club has its own three-day flagship event and we have a club event called ‘Thrithi. We also have a Concert nights, farewell, and inter-department events where BBA, Law and BA students come together to form a good event during events. Food stalls like Domino’s, Paradise, McDonald’s, have their food trucks and supply food. The food hygienic and the events are very lively. The budget is approved and overall it’s an amazing experience that has fun studies.
