Nirma University Ahmedabad's Fees and Scholarships

We have a great faculty who are open to helping students at any point in time. I think future Law aspirants should definitely consider this university if what they want to do is something along the lines of Litigation and Judiciary. I chose the university since I only wanted to pursue B.Com.LL.B. I think the level of diversity in the university is interesting. I do not think that is something you can commonly find. The educators are very welcoming and I think most of they do in fact try to achieve a holistic educational environment for students.

The requirement for admission here is CLAT. We have mid semester and an end semester every semester. We have two semesters a year. I think that the academics do teach you the details of research and importance of focus. At the end of the day, Law is about how well you handle pressure, and I think Nirma University does that very well.

Year wise, the fee is Rs. 2,96,000. We pay this amount semester wise. We are offered scholarships via merit and as well, as merit cum means. Merit scholarships simply rely on your CLAT rank and the top 10 students get a 100% scholarship. You must maintain a CGPA of 8/10 or above and do not have any backlogs. Merit cum means is after looking at your financial situation and is a sort of financial aid. By this, you can get 30%, 50%, etc., scholarships with the same rules as before.

Our faculty changes every semester. Most professors are very well able and knowledgeable; it is a pleasure to learn from them. Most teachers are from north India (from Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP, MP, and West Bengal). They mostly use blackboards and PPTs to teach. The teachers are incredibly approachable and we are free to talk to them in their cabins regarding any personal and professional problems. As far as I know, many professors even go out of their way and pull out contacts in order to help students with internships, jobs, research, etc.

The placement cell at our university is average. EY, ONGC, KPMG, etc. visit the campus for placements. Many corporate law firms that have recently established offices in Ahmedabad in the past year have started recruiting actively from the university and that has helped a lot. Our last senior received package of 26 LPA. I am in third year so no placements as of now. We rely a lot on pre placement offers and the highest PPO our last years seniors received was of 26 LPA. I am in third year so no placements as of now. But hopefully soon.

The university offers residential spaces to female students on campus for University of Law. Other universities have living spaces for both male and female students. The hostels are separate. The mess food needs to be improved. The in-timing of all hostels are 11 PM.

Each block has its designated buildings and blocks. It is a huge campus with ample space, infrastructure, and greenery. There is a huge cricket ground and a sports complex is being built currently. There are three canteens and vending machines present across the campus. The security is very strong on campus and has regular patrolling. It is a wonderful place to take walks post dinners and just hang around.

Campus life is great. It takes a whole to get used to the people but otherwise pretty good. There are many different clubs including music dance theatre sports etc. as well as academic societies for special fields of law such corporate, criminal, IPR, constitution, AI and Technology, Competition etc. there are also committees for debate, moots, and ADR as well as a fully fledged student research council. All of these committees are very active and have regular event throughout the year. We also actively conduct seminars, workshops, conclaves, and conferences to enhance exposure of students. Most of the time, there are music clubs of different universities playing songs and having jamming sessions throughout campus.
