GEU Dehradun has a mind-blowing faculty that makes this university different from other universities. The environment inside the campus is clean and green. It has a good infrastructure. The main thing that I found different in the university is the faculty, which is excellent as compared to other universities. This university is also good because of its anti ragging policies, which are quite strict. There is even a special team for it.

In Graphic Era University, my course is B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, and my motive is to enroll in this course is because I have a deep interest in machines and cars. The entry requirements or the eligibility criteria are that you must score around 75 percent in your 12th after which you can get scholarship according to your percentage. Frequency of exams is in two parts; mid and end term examination. Academics prepare us by managing our assignments, projects and covering syllabus, which help us in time management.

The fee of Mechanical Engineering is around Rs. 1,34,500 for 1st semester and Rs. 3,22,600 yearly as per the scholarship. Tuition fees is Rs. 90,000, admission fees is Rs. 25,000, registration fees is Rs. 5,000, library fee is Rs. 5,000, and other fee are included in tuition fees. As there is no discount for general category only scholarship can help them but for SC/ST there is a discounted fees around 20% but discount is also provided according to your family financial condition.

Faculty of my course is awesome; they are very talented. They have cleared IIT, NIT, and many of them are past KV ONGC teachers. They teach with the help of blackboard with no books involved, they teach with their own mind. Faculty is very good in problem solving; they are always available for the students. If you have any doubt, you can visit the faculty anytime. Teacher and student ratio is 2:4. My personal experience with faculty is very good. I like their way of teaching.

Placements in our university are good. There are many companies related to my branch that visited us like, Tata and Steel, Wipro, Mahindra, etc. In semester 6, placement drive starts and it a good time for internships as our university provides internship based on our CGPA. Average package offered by the companies is package 5 LPA and the maximum package is 22 LPA for Mechanical Engineering.

As Dehradun is my hometown so I don’t know much about hostels but Graphic Era University provides 3 hotels and one hostel has about 132 rooms with 2 students sharing one room. Girls and boys hostel are separate. Hostel fee is Rs. 11,300 per year. Hostel gates are closed at 10:00 PM and no entry after that time.

There are many blocks such as Civil Block, B.Tech Block (that is the main block), Mechanical Block, Petroleum Block etc. campus is good enough and the locality is very good. Classrooms need an improvement, as the infrastructure is not that good but bearable. The fans do not work properly there in summer and some benches are broken. We have 3 libraries and they have a better infrastructure than the classrooms. Labs are there for all the subjects except English. We have one auditorium and one seminar hall. There are two canteens in our university; the second canteen near gate no. 2 is a premium one. Transport is also there, many buses are there for each stop. The university also provides medical facilities.

Overall campus life at GEU Dehradun is great as there are garden, which is better place for study then the classrooms. Crowd is very much, as this university is a famous one so crowd is there. There are clubs such as NCC/NSS. Their engagement activities such as Arm Wrestling, Tug Of War, Paintball War, etc. are the best. The most famous fest of our university is ‘Grafest’, which is of 4 days, and the last day is the celebrity night. My experience in this university is very good but only the infrastructure of classrooms needs to be improved.
