My Journey in IRMA Anand

Overall Rating
Everybody dreams of a good campus; personally, I feel IRMA is one good-looking campus, 60acres of green campus. Location is also not bad, in the city itself, I have struggled in a campus of a remote from town during UG, and now having everything in near vicinity is a blessing. Climate maybe a bit challenging here, summers are hot and humid, fortunately, classes are fully air-conditioned. For a person with agriculture or allied academic background looking to step into corporate world, I would say this institute is the best bet. It just makes sense.
 

Academics Rating
Rural management is a niche subject, it does not have much players in it, and it is the best institute to tap this field. We learn beyond books to understand Indian market, and there are specific activities that help us learn it, like Village Field Segmentation, Introductory Field Segmentation. IRMA accepts various entrance exams like CAT, XAT, and like any other B school interview, after clearing the cutoff, a written ability test and personal interview follows, after which students are selected. Rather than dwelling in theories alone, the institute focuses more on practical learning experiences like VFS and IFS.
The institute follows AICTE guidelines and fees is according to that, total fee current is around 20 Lakh for 2 years which includes all expenses like tuition, exam, lab, hostel, mess, etc. As IRMA has come under TSU, fee could be reduced in the coming years.
 

Faculty Rating
It is surprising how approachable faculty members are, even during the interview for IRMA where one of the panellists was a faculty while other an alumnus, it was surprising how humble they were. It continues forward. Classrooms are well equipped with projectors and smart boards. MBA teaching generally involves PPTs. But, unlike many other B schools, the institute has a very healthy campus with respect to faculties and seniors. Even before classes began, seniors from admission and placement, committee conducted multiple webinars to clear our doubts and guide us into it.
 

Placement Rating
100% placement with audited reports. No frauds like opting out. Placement committee is transparent and hardworking, they are ready to bring in companies even for a few students, and no one is left out.
 

Hostel Rating
We have a fully residential program, so all the students must stay in campus. There is separate hostel for both boys and girls and mess menu rotates to provide cuisine variety from different parts of India.
 

Infrastructure Rating
IRMA is located in the town of Anand Gujarat, with others institutions like Anand Agriculture University, AMUL nearby. It is a 60-acre green campus. Location is good enough to get everything you need in a short amount of time. It has one of the largest libraries among schools in India. Whole campus is aesthetically well made. It does not lack any major facilities like gym, library, mess, and canteen. And having no time restrictions inside campus is great, late night strolls and tea breaks make bonds in campus.
 

Campus Rating
It is a good campus with great community. Alumni network is also very strong, so you will always have someone to look up to or ask for help. There are plenty of clubs and we are provided with an option of creating new clubs if needed. It is not a rigid system, which forces students to conform into what they want. But at the same time academics is very rigorous. It is a good place to be, especially if you are a non-engineer, academic diversity makes it very healthy place for all.

    IRMA was set up by Dr. Verghese Kurien and is one of the top institutes in the country. It is one of the few institutes that offer rural management courses. During my admission, the institute used to conduct its own entrance exam but now they refer to CAT score for admitting students.     The institute has some string core values set up by Dr Verghese Kurian and his values are instilled deep down among each faculties and students who are part of IRMA. The students are selected for this course based on CAT score followed by competitive GD round personal interview is conducted. The admission process is strict, formal and is systematically conducted.
