Sports and Healthcare Facilities at GCET Greater Noida

I am a sophomore at GCET Greater Noida and there are a few things you should keep in mind before taking admission into this college. The location of the college is very good. It has proper connectivity with various important areas such as the main markets, hostels, and hospitals. The Knowledge Park II metro station is right in front of the college, so the connectivity with New Delhi and other areas of Noida. The campus is very green, might be a bit dusty but the during extreme weather conditions, the campus has a new look always.

I am a Computer Science student and as per my opinion, the quality of education is average. Since the college follows AKTU curriculum, I feel it requires a lot of hard work and exhausting to the mind. However, one thing is good that they will teach you everything that this industry needs. At least the basics will be taught in the college. However, since it is a tier 3 college, like other colleges you will have to work out everything on your own. You cannot rely on the college. There are a lot of exams that they ask you to give- 2 or 3 internal exams+2 external exams. Attendance criteria are 75% but minimum 60% attendance is enough.

The fee is taken year wise for both college and hostel (including Mess charges). I would say that studying in this college is highly affordable as compared to the other colleges nearby. Scholarship options are available in 2nd year but for that you have to maintain 7 CGPA from the beginning (70% marks).

Faculty depends from person to person. Sometimes you will get a nice one or none of them will be good. It is all about scores for some faculties. All the faculties are PhD holders in their respective fields. The faculties are good problem solvers. You can approach them whenever you want. I personally had kind of good bonds with my faculties until date. There are strict faculties, which might make your life miserable according to you, but at the end, their strictness is genuine and necessary.

The hostels are very good especially for girls. They will get attached washrooms. For boys the hostel is not bad, except for 2 seater rooms. The badminton court is present inside the boys’ hostel itself. For girls, the timings are up until 9:30 PM. For boys the timing varies.

I mean you just get up in the morning get ready step out of the hostel and there is your classroom at a distance of 3 minutes. There are multiple sports facilities available like Badminton, basketball, football, cricket, and table tennis. There is a medical room built recently and other than that, there is an ambulance of the college itself, which is available 24x7. Other than that, there is Sharda Hospital and Yatharth Hospital within 2 KMs. The canteen is also open until 10 PM at night.

The campus life of GCET Greater Noida is good. Overall experience inside the campus is very good. During rainy season, it is a bit tedious since there is more of dusty and land area than properly built paths. Events and fests are also part of this college. Other things depend over the individual level.
