My Journey in OCT Bhopal

Overall Rating
Oriental College Of Technology is a great college as it offers everything a student. Great faculty, great infrastructure, good AC labs, and well maintained libraries, all are there. The classes are structured for you in a way, which makes you industry ready. Practical knowledge is given top priority in this college.
 

Academics Rating
The course chosen by me was Computer Science and Engineering, I would definitely recommend students to take this course and this course will provide you practical knowledge of the things that are going in the industry. For the entry in the college, you should have given JEE exam and according to your marks, you will get the course. Admission process of the college is easy. There is an exam cell the college which conducts 2 mid semester and 1 main semester exam in a year.
The fees for 4 years is Rs. 4,000,00. Every semester, you have to pay an amount of Rs. 50,000, which includes bus fees (if applicable) too. There are discounts for lower classes, which are different for all. Scholarships and financial aids for students are available.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty in this college is very good; very knowledgeable about the particular field. Faculties are very well educated and highly experienced. Every teacher has different method of teaching some teach in PPTs, some teach giving a practical approach to the topic. The problem solving abilities of each faculty is great they are always ready for the doubts. The Teacher student ration is 1:60. Teachers are very much approachable, we can go any time during their free periods for doubt sessions.
 

Placement Rating
There is a placement cell in the college, who are responsible for the placements of the students. They also take training and placement classes so that each student can get ready for placements from the start of the college. The companies that come for placements are TCS, HCL, INFOSYS, WIPRO, etc. Highest package that went in my batch was 24 Lakh and the lowest was 3.5 Lakh.
 

Hostel Rating
College has 2 hostels for girls and 1 for boys. Mess is provided in every hostel. The fees are typically from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 75,000 per year for triple, double and single sharing rooms. The food in the mess is of good quality and the menu changes every month.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus of OCT Bhopal is huge. Big classes, good AC labs, a big ground, a good canteen, stationary shop and medical assistance centre is there is the campus. There are 2 auditoriums, 1 conference hall, and each floor has 2 -3 labs. My favorite thing in the campus is the labs, as it is so nicely maintained.
 

Campus Rating
Overall, my campus life in OCT Bhopal was good. I made many friends who are now in very good positions. The crowd in the college is good. There are many clubs in the college like Sports Club, Tech Club, Dance Club, etc. I was the part of Tech Club. The college organises a Tech fest every year, where every student participates not only in tech related things, but in dance, singing, game, and sports too.

    My overall experience is good. I like the campus building. The faculty is supportive and motivates us. Seniors are good at guiding us. Our classroom is big. They have proper ventilation.     I choose this institution because I didn't scored good in JEE Mains entrance exam and my parents didn't allowed me to take drop so I had no option left other than a three tier college. So as far as I remember I scored around 75 percentile and as I am from general category I couldn't get any government college with top branches.
