SGSITS Indore's Admission Process: JEE Main and MP- DTE Counselling

SGSITS Indore is an institute situated in the middle of the city, accessible from any corner of Indore within 15-20 minutes. The institute provides you all those opportunities that you would expect from a state government institute. In recent JOSSA counselling, our institute has been included so as to give admission to students coming from different parts of country and not only Madhya Pradesh. If you are not able to get admission in IIT, NIT or IIIT in MP, then it's the best place to hone your skills and get submerged in a competitive growth environment. A flexible time table, approachable and knowledgeable teaching staff, and smart peer groups are the reasons why I chose this.

My major was in Electronics and Telecommunication. I selected this because it's a Circuital branch and next to CSE. In order to get admission here in top branches, clearing JEE Main with rank below 50,000 will do the work for most folks. Counselling happens through MP- DTE so keep on checking that website for updates, cutoffs and seat matrix. The frequency of exam is semester based i.e. one in every six months. If you put enough hard work, then academics will prepare you for your future endeavors by providing challenging lab projects, quizzes and assignment. Regular alumni lectures and mentor-mentee meets also take place so to guide students in their other parts of life and not only academics.

Fee structure has changed over the years. For me apart from first sem, it was Rs. 46,000 per semester.

Most of the faculties are PhD holders, they still continue their research work and interested students can also join them, given they clear the knowledge bar required to help in research. Most of the classes now operate on the theme of smart classes, which helps in covering large content and spares time for meaningful doubt session. Blackboards and white boards are also available and it's upto faculty to choose what to use. As the difficulty of subjects increases then only you would realize the problem solving powers your faculty holds. Teachers are mostly approachable. They are always there to help.

A dedicated placement cell is present to help students crack placements. They hire juniors into the cell to manage the operations related to it. They guide through various seminars and webinars by collaborating with firms and different programs to help teach students latest technology and advancement in technology. They also have a session for guiding regarding IELTS, GRE and visa applying process for MS abroad. Various companies visit and the average is always more than 5 LPA. MNCs such as TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini and Wipro are some, which participate in placement season.

Hostel facility has changed over the last year. Now only first two years students are allotted hostel for boys. As the batch size is increasing, institute tries to accommodate more freshers within the campus. Girls and boys hostels are separate. Mess has good hygiene and food is good too.

SGSITS Indore holds a lush green campus. Every two weeks you can find a thing or two about the campus beauty in newspaper. The campus works as oxygen for surrounding neighborhoods. There are two newly planted forests known as Miyawaki forest. The beauty and peace they hold is commendable. Institute has a central library, which contains all kinds of books and students can study there throughout the day in air-conditioned environment. The campus has a modern café and stationary to fill all of your daily needs. The sports facilities are also available for Badminton, Cricket, Basketball and more. The campus also has a gym.

My institute life has been a wonderful experience. From finding great friends to navigating the challenges through B.Tech, it has been a memorable journey. Institute crowd is a mix of population across MP. You get to meet new people and get to know a lot about other places. We have NCC, NSS and lots of culture clubs. Institute organizes full night graffiti, poster painting competitions, etc. We have a cultural fest ‘Aayam’, dj night and more to enjoy while studying. Students while organising this activities, learn to bring in sponsoring as well, this helps in future.
