Exploring Excellent Opportunities at IIT Guwahati

Overall Rating
My overall experience was good at IIT Guwahati. It has a good campus and I like the place it is located at. The factor that made me choose this particular Institute was its reputation all over India. One thing that sets the Institute apart from other Institutions in my opinion is its research oriented vision which facilitates knowledge flow.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. The reason behind choosing this course was the evergreen demand of machinery. You have to be JEE Advanced qualified and you should have an exceptionally good rank to get in the course I chose. The frequency of exams is quite often, there are 4 exams in the whole semester. Academics here are very perfect. It is problem oriented and it allows us to solve the real-life problems that actually occur.
The fees of my course is around Rs. 1,50,000/- per semester. Students can get scholarships based on their performance, and others factors.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is very cooperative and knowledgeable and their method of teaching is also very exceptional. The teaching method is a combination of blackboard, PPTs and also group discussions which are held every now and then. The professors are good at problem solving, which makes it easier to get doubts cleared. The teacher to student ratio is sufficient too which makes it possible to gain individual attention.
 

Placement Rating
There are various opportunities for student to engage in internships and placements. A huge crowd of companies visit our Institute for placements and internships. The highest package varies every year.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the Institute offers residential facilities to the students. There are a total of 13 hostels out of which three are girls’ hostel and the remaining are boys’ hostel. The quality of mess food is very good and proper hygiene is maintained. You get a wide variety of food from all over India. The hostel fee is already included in the total fees of the whole semester which includes the academics and the stay at hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are many buildings associated with the academic section. There are 5 cores where all the departments have different sections. The classrooms have a good seating capacity ranging from 100 to 250. The campus is spread across 700 acres. All types of facilities like Library, Conference Centre, Seminar Hall and all that is needed are available. Also, there are a wide range of sport facilities. There are around 13 canteens on campus along with medical, transport and security facilities.
 

Campus Rating
Campus Life is good and exciting at IIT Guwahati. There is a limited crowd available which offers a peaceful environment to the students. Engaging in clubs is an important thing that can help build your skills and connection too. Fests are incredible and are conducted on a very large scale. They are famous all across India since famous artists are also invited to our Institute’s fest. Overall, the campus life is great and happening. Various engaging activities take place in the campus too.

    My experience with the Institute has been a chaotic and yet nice. The Institute is where one experiences a plethora of new activities, and gets to chat with passerby strangers like they were your next door neighbors and make unforgettable memories. IIT Guwahati as an Institute is excellent and definitely fitting of its namesake as an IIT.     Overall experience for me in this Institute is quite good. Campus has lush greenery; you will feel the nature surrounding you with each step you take in the campus. I particularly choose IIT Guwahati because I am got my desired course at my rank in this Institute. But once I came to campus I was fully overwhelmed with campus infrastructure and size.     It has been a year since I joined IIT Guwahati. I have a very good experience in this Institute. We didn’t get to join the clubs in the beginning but the Institute conducts several events. I can’t forget the mischief that I and my friends have done in the hostel throughout the year. I went for this Institute as the branch I chose aligned with my interests.
