IIT Guwahati Campus: Photos, Virtual Tour

The campus has 5 academic blocks side by side. The campus is spread on an area of about 700 acres. A classroom's general seating capacity is about 120 to 130 students. We have a central library, Physics & Chemistry labs, conference hall, and auditorium. The canteen opens from 10 AM and closes at 3 AM at night. The food in canteen is tasty. We also a hospital in our Institute.

IIT Guwahati has one of the most beautiful campuses all over India and it is located on the banks of river Brahmaputra. The infrastructure is top-notch with world-class amenities. It comes with every sport arena or ground you could think of. Be it Track Field or Basketball court or Football field or indoor Badminton court, all of it is just a few pedals away. The main library is well-ventilated and maintained and boasts an impressive and grandiose archive of books. The auditorium is nothing short of a grand cinema hall that breathes in life in to the campus with students exhibiting vibrant and colorful performances. Coming to academics, the labs here possess state-of-the-art equipment that promotes passion-driven research and education. I personally love the sprawling greenery of the campus. It is very refreshing.

Campus life is hectic but also very colorful. You’ll never be busier than this in your life ever again. With innumerable clubs to join to, events to participate in and organise, the life of the students become pretty thrilling. Our Institute hosts some of the biggest events in all of Northeast. Some of the clubs are with ‘Alcheringa’, ‘Techniche’, ‘Spirit’, ‘Udgam’, and so on. The campus of the Institute is vast and is spread across 700+ acres of land. There are separate administration buildings, a big library, lecture hall complex. There are class rooms with variable occupancy like from 50 to 400. There are respective labs in the department building for each department, also there is an auditorium with a seating capacity of 2000+ and a mini auditorium is there too. Each hostel has its own canteen. Facilities for almost all kinds of sports are available. Also there is hospital inside campus; there is a regular service of government bus from campus to city. Buses leave time wise and are they are specially for the students of this Institute.

My campus life is better than I expected at IIT Guwahati. There are around 6000 to 7000 students in total. There are around 15 clubs in the campus; the major clubs are Coding, Consulting and Analytics, Electronics, Prakriti Club, Finance and Economics, Robotics Club, Areomodelling, Astronomy, etc. There are two major fests in the campus ‘Techniche’, the tech fest and ‘Alcheringa’, the cultural fest. There are more fests other than these but for these I like these two the most.Read Full Review
