Exceptional Education and Placement at SSNCE Chennai

Overall Rating
SSN College of Engineering Chennai is one of the top Colleges that offers a variety of Engineering courses. The infrastructure and classrooms are amazing. One good thing about this College is that it offers 100 percent placements and it’s the best for Computer Science, Information Technology, and Electronic Communication. Also there are outdoor activities like basketball court, cricket ground, and gym for hostel students. Cultural events do take place and a lot of fun events along with symposiums, paper presentations, and technical events happen in this College.
 

Academics Rating
There are two ways to get into this College either through TNEA or through entrance exams. One needs to have a very high cutoff to get into the top courses in this College. Entrance exams will be conducted and based on your score there will be a selection and further proceed with an interview, where general questions will be asked and communication skills will be tested. Exams will be conducted every semester and in total 8 semesters will be there. Academics wise one needs to prepare well, textbooks will be available in library and also notes will be shared by Professors.
The fees of the course will be around Rs. 1,50,000 per annum. They collect year wise fees but exam fee is paid separately. There is a special fee package for students from underprivileged background. There is a scholarship available for students who perform the best throughout the semester.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty members are well educated with a minimum of Ph.D in very well known institutions, method of teaching includes PPT, doesn’t involve much student interactions except for elective subjects, also practicals are held regularly to improve practical knowledge. Each class has 60 students roughly and each subject has different faculties. In total there are three sections per department and faculty members are very approachable, clear doubts any time.
 

Placement Rating
Placements are about 100 percent except for those who opt for higher studies. Top MNCs offer jobs with a package ranging from 4 LPA to 50 LPA. The placement cell engages with students and helps them find their company. Placement training sessions are also held. The average package is 6 LPA. Placements are easy to get through if you are well prepared which was my personal experience. Renowned companies such as Amazon, Oracle, Zoho, Verizon, TCS, Cognizant, etc. offer placements here.
 

Hostel Rating
Separate hostels are available for both boys and girls. AC and non-AC rooms are available with single and double room sharing with two or three people.
There is a mess which provides breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Boys’ hostel closes at 10 PM and girls’ hostel closes at 8 PM. Hostel feels is to be paid annually including mess fees which is compulsory.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is the best in SSNCE Chennai, its located in Kallavakam. Campus is very huge with lots of trees and a fountain which is very attractive. There are facilities like library, seminar halls, big auditorium, and mini auditorium, etc. There is medical help available in campus for any emergencies. There are two additional food spots apart from main canteen. Classrooms are brightly lit with quality benches, blackboard, and projector. Day-scholars can opt for buses which go to almost all areas over Chennai.
 

Campus Rating
Overall College life is amazing and would highly recommend joining this College. There are a lot of clubs which includes tech clubs and non-technical clubs such as design clubs, photography club, music club, etc. College is not much crowded because it has a huge campus. There are several fests that take place where students from all other Colleges come to participate. Cultural events take place every year for three days where you get to meet celebrities. Four years of fun is guaranteed along with exceptional education and placements.

    The overall experience at SSN College of Engineering was wonderful as it was beyond the cinematic picture that I had in my mind about college. I wanted to choose a college which had a reasonable fee for EEE course and SSN had it.
