PGI Roorkee Offers Scholarships to OBC / SC / ST Category Students

My experience in PGI Roorkee is okay. Teachers are friendly and they explain everything efficiently. The working staff is good as well. The classrooms and floors are cleaned on daily basis. I chose this institute because of the good placement ratio as it has. The difference between this institute and other institutes is the bond of faculties and students.

I chose B.Tech Mechanical as this field needs most hands on experience with machines, and this institute not only provides theory but also practical of the course, which is very helpful. Other students should join this course as well because working with machines will teach you a lot rather than just theory learning. Eligibility criterion of this institute is, you should have passed with 50% above in your boards. About the admission process, you have to pay Rs. 5,000 for the registration and after providing your institute documents like boards exams mark sheets, TC, character certificate, etc. you can get the admission in this institute. 8 external exams happen in 4 years of B.Tech Mechanical. Academics prepare us for the real life challenges nicely as they take 2 internal exams too in a year before the main external exams. They provide us hand written notes, gives assignments, and check copies.

The course fee is around 6.30 Lakh including hostel fee as well. The tuition fee amount is 3.28 Lakh for 1 year. Registration cost will be Rs. 5,000 and onetime payment including uniform fee will cost you Rs. 4,800. About the discounts, if you pay 1-year fee at once, then you will get the discount of Rs. 4,000. Our institute provides scholarships to the students who come in OBC / SC / ST category.

We have experienced teachers who always stay in touch and clear every doubt we have. The faculty members have degrees in B.Tech Mechanical, with 4-5 years of experience in teaching. They teach us on blackboard, provide with hand written PDF notes, and class discussions with hand on practice with the machines. Teachers clear multiple doubts of students efficiently. The teacher student ratio is 5:10. However, They are enough to manage and teach us with their full ability. I am an introvert student but my bond with the faculties is good as they are helpful not only in education field but also on a personal level.

Placement cell provides you with opportunities even after your course is over, they still get you multiple chances to sit in placement interviews. The placement cell even took classes to teach us how to sit in interviews and display our skills in the best way. Companies like Wipro, Zudio, and YBI foundation come in our institute and provide us internships. The highest package from our course was of 26 Lakh and the average package goes under 4.50 Lakh. Even I got placed in a Bangalore company with 4 Lakh package. The placement experience was great.

Our institute offers 2 different hostel buildings for girls and boys. They provide 30 rooms with 60 students with a filter water tank system inside the hostel building. They provide security guard in each hostel for their security. There is 1 cafeteria for their timely food. The quality of mess food is very good as they provide healthy food with weekly changed dishes. They serve food 4 times breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. The hostel fee is 3 Lakh yearly. Hostel has some rules like as no girls can enter in boy’s room and no alcoholic substance in their room should be there.

We have campus academic block with a sitting and waiting area having 24/7 Wi-Fi facilities and AC. Campus size is not that big as we have only 2 buildings. Once for the study and other for the academic block. The seating capacity in a classroom is around 50 students and we have CCTV in most of our classrooms. We have labs, library, cafeteria, sports room and seminar hall. In our canteen, food is good but they have high charges. In transport, the bus is free for the girls. My favorite part of institute infrastructure is our canteen as we can get food whenever we are hungry. Plus the mechanical room helped me a lot to get my hands on learning about machines and trying different model ideas.

My overall campus life was great. I got good teachers and placement assistance from the institute. The institutes are not that crowded, there are many different clubs like Sports, Tech, Dancing, Painting, etc. and I was a part of sports club. They conduct extracurricular actives yearly they do literary events, creative events and cultural events as well. We have a yearly Fest called ‘Aura’ where we see different dance performances. Singers perform and DJ nights also happen there. My experience is great and memorable.
