Great academic excellence at NIT Srinagar

Overall Rating
Studying in one of the NITs in India is a proud thing for me. The faculty, their teaching style and their helping nature are all you need to excel. The environment is quite positive and motivating; here you can start afresh anytime. At our Institute, we have highly qualified and intellectual students coming from across India. The positive peer competition elevates you up every time. Not only in academics but also in extra-curricular activities.
 

Academics Rating
It is a National Institute; its NIRF 2024 ranking is 79th in the Engineering category. To get enrolled I qualified JEE Main and then, after proper counselling, I got admission here. Eligibility is that you have to score 75% aggregate marks in 12th with PCM or PCMB. The students have to clear the cutoff for admission. In our Institute, we have the liberty to choose our electives as per interests from the 5th semester onwards, and one can also do Honors in B.Tech.
The fee per semester is around Rs. 1,05,000/-. It includes the tuition fee (Rs. 76,000/-) + hostel fee (Rs. 8000/-) + mess fee (Rs. 21,000/-) for general / OBC category students having an annual income of above Rs. 5,00,000/-. There are fee waivers and scholarships also.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty at National Institute of Technology Srinagar is highly qualified with 10-30 years of experience in their field. They are extremely talented and intellectual. They have lots of well recognised published papers under their name. Most of our professors have been awarded by several Government And Private awards. Each year, many of our professors receive funding to do projects and researches from Government. Every concept they teach is explained with a lot of clarity, and all the topics are crystal clear as a result of which students attain high CGPAs and high placement packages.
 

Placement Rating
Our Institute has a really good placement record for nearly all the branches, particularly for CSE, IT and ECE branches. In 2023, we had an overall internship rate of 100%. We have decent placements for both tech and core streams. The placement cell is really supportive and always guides us for the best.
 

Hostel Rating
Our hostel facilities are quite good. We have cozy rooms with basic necessities. We have LAN connection in each room. Proper Wi-Fi connections are there. Cleanliness is on top-notch. All the washrooms are neat and clean. We do have open space inside our hostels with a proper garden and so many flowers, big corridors, indoor mess, etc. Our wardens, hall assistants, and caretakers are all very sweet and humble. The mess food is also nice with a variety of food options served each day.
 

Infrastructure Rating
In our Institute, we have modern infrastructure, spacious and air-conditioned classrooms, lecture halls, labs and one of the highly recognised libraries in J&K with a full 5G network. We have separate academic blocks, mess office faculty blocks, executive blocks, hostels, canteen, cafeteria, barber shops, Nescafe, fruit shops, general stores, stationery, and many more facilities inside our campus. We really don't have to go outside the campus for anything.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life at National Institute of Technology Srinagar is one of the best experiences I have had in my life. My favorite part of being in Institute is the snowfall that we get to experience every winter, whole Institute looks so serene. In my campus, you can find different clubs and committees- all are active and also there are many student-driven bodies, which is perhaps the best part of it. Together we celebrate many festivals and enjoy every single event or occasion. We have Institute fests; which are the best part of campus life. I would highly recommend the Institute.

    National Institute of Technology, Srinagar is one of the premier educational institutes in the Northern Regions of the country. The institute is full of beautiful spots and scenery, here, serenity truly meets the technology. The view of Dal Lake is just breathtaking and with mountains at the background is just cherry on top.     NIT Srinagar is one of the most prestigious institutes of our country. It not only provides quality education but it also provides great real life experiences to the students. It is not easy to get into this college in the first place but when you get in, your life changes. The faculty is exceptional with highly qualified teachers. Even the technicians are very qualified.   • Serene campus life
     

    Overall Rating
    First of all, the institute is very beautiful as it is situated in the best part of Kashmir. You can feel every season here. The temperature rises up to 35 degrees but can even fall to -5 degrees in winter. You can enjoy snowfall on campus along with rain and autumn.
