Tamilnadu Government Dental College and Hospital Chennai: One of the Best Dental College in India

Overall Rating
One of the best thing about this College is it provides practical exposure. There are around 2,000 patient come in our College on daily basis. Almost all the cases we attend in 5 years gave us a very good experience and made us confident in handling cases by the end of the academic session. This College is a combination of excellent academics, well experienced faculties, and high patient exposure.
 

Academics Rating
I chose Bachelor of Dental Surgery [BDS] because of my strong interest in it. It is a very good career and provides high paying job roles. For admission, the students need to qualify NEET UG exam. The admission process is very systematic, 85% of the seats are for state students and 15% seats are for those who belong to different states. Every year the exams are held and the College also conducts internal exams and class tests. This College is associated with Madras Medical College. The academics help us enhance our skills and build confidence.
The fee of Tamilnadu Government Dental College and Hospital for the first year is Rs. 16,325/-. The mess fee is Rs. 3,500/- per month. There are various scholarships available for the students.
 

Faculty Rating
The Facilities are highly qualified and experienced in their respective field. They teach us very well. The teaching methods include PPTs, etc. They play a very important role in shaping the students future. Most of the teachers have done Doctorate level of education and are also actively involved in clinical practices.
 

Placement Rating
There are no on-campus placements in our College but the certificates given by our College has a great value and helps in getting good jobs.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the Tamilnadu Government Dental College and Hospital got constructed. The girl’s hostels are a bit congested but the new hostels are great. The facilities provide in girls and the boy’s facilities are also good.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of this College is good. The College and the hospital are on the same block and the campus has library, canteen, huge auditorium, etc. Classrooms are good and some of them are well equipped with AC facilities and projectors. The labs are spacious and can accommodate around 100 students at a time. New floors are under constructions and after that the infrastructure will be top notch.
 

Campus Rating
Till now, my campus life is good. The College organises various extracurricular activities like sports, quiz, competitions, etc. Tamilmandram is the most celebrated events of our College. This is a professional College but still it tries to maintain a balance between the academics and others extracurricular activities.
