Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology Average Package is 8 LPA

Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology Kochi was allotted to me through Government allotment process. The Institute offers a humongous infrastructure and great placements opportunities. Moreover, one thing that sets it apart in my opinion is its proximity to the InfoPark area. I would not say that students will have a life-changing experience here but they will definitely get to learn a lot.

I have chosen the Computer Science and Engineering course and the eligibility for choosing this course was a cutoff rank of less than 5000 in the allotment process. The admission process at the Institute was very smooth and fast. During my admission at the Institute, the entire process was over in a whisk. Each semester has two internal exams which happen at an interval of 1 month. Apart from this, there is a final end semester exam along with lab exams.

My chosen course has a tuition fee of around Rs. 75,000/- per year. This fee does not include the charges for extracurricular activities and admission & registration charges. There are some financial aids given to students coming from financially weaker families.

The faculty teaching my course have completed their education from top educational Institutions and have great teaching abilities. But, at times, they lack the enthusiasm to teach. The method of teaching is almost entirely reliant on PPTs with comparatively less importance given to hands-on teaching. The problem solving abilities of the faculty ranges from good to average for varied subjects. I have bonded with very minimal number of faculty members as of yet.

There is a placement cell available at the Institute. If you are struggling to find internships, you can try to find them through the internship cell. There are placements drives often conducted at the Institute for 4th year students. There are also practice workshops taking place which train the students for their interviews. Companies which visit the Institute for placements include Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, etc. The highest package offered so far was 15 LPA while the average package is around 8 LPA.

Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology Kochi offers residential facilities. There are 3 boys’ hostels which are situated at a walking distance from the Institute. While there are 2 girls’ hostels out of which one is located nearby while the other is located at Thrikkakkara. The mess food is generally okay. The hostel fee is around Rs. 1,00,000/- per year which includes the mess fees. The curfew time is 6:30 PM for first year boys and 8:30 PM for all others. For girls, it is 7 PM. I am staying as a paying guest nearby the Institute.

The campus has three academic blocks- KE block, PG block and the main block. The campus is very large and has many facilities. The Institute is located in close proximity to the busiest area in Kochi. The classrooms are equipped with projectors. The Institute offers many academic facilities ranging from libraries, state-of-the-art labs for the enrichment of students and also a gigantic auditorium, seminar halls and others. The canteen offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meal options to the students. There is a well-maintained Cricket ground and a huge Football ground along with a large athletic track, Basketball courts and Badminton court. There are first-aid facilities and medical rooms available and around 20 buses for the transportation of the students. My favorite thing about the Institute is undoubtedly the gym, which I visit during evenings to ease myself.

The overall campus life is average . The Institute crowd is usually very nice and all the students ranging from the seniors to the juniors share a joyous rapport. There are many student-driven clubs available to join in the Institute for activities ranging from Reading, Cinema, Dance, and Music to other similar extracurricular activities. I am part of the Reading club. The Institute offers many extracurricular activities like arts and sports fests for the students known as ‘Bharatham’ and ‘Ranabhoomi’ respectively. The tech fest is named ‘Abhiyanthriki’. All of these three fests happen annually.
