Comfortable Learning Environment at IIITDM Kancheepuram

Overall Rating
My overall experience in the campus of IIITDM Kancheepuram has been good. The faculty members in the Institute are very intellectual and helpful. They help us every time and keep motivating the students. The curriculum of the course is very good and structured. The labs are fully-equipped with all the required machineries. The library is also well-stocked with books. The Institute is well-maintained and the hostels are also very clean.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen the B.Tech in CSE. The eligibility for this course is that you need to have a good rank in your JEE Main exam. The admission process is held through JoSAA counseling. The Institute has 2 exams in a semester; one of them is the mid-semester exam which carries 25 marks and the other is the end-semester exam for 75 marks. You also have to complete assignments carrying 25 marks.
The fees for the course I have chosen is Rs. 1,16,000/- per semester and the overall fee for the course would cost you around Rs. 8,00,000/- along with other additional charges. This fee is inclusive of the hostel fees.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members teaching here are very good and experienced. All of them have a Ph.Ds from reputed educational Institutions. The teaching method of the faculty members is very good and they explain every concept with clarity. They also provide us the notes and slides of the lectures for our reference and the student teacher ratio is around 1:50 in the Institute. The faculty also conducts the tutorial sessions for doubt solving.
 

Placement Rating
The placement cell here is good. Major companies like Infosys, Tata, etc. come to hire students. The highest package is 34 LPA and the median is around 13 LPA for my branch.
 

Hostel Rating
We have hostels named ‘Ashwatha’ and ‘Akshaya’ with each having around 14 floors. The mess here is separate and the quality of mess food is also average.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is built on an area of about 53 acres. We have an academic building and a laboratory building. The academic building has 5 classrooms on each floor by the name H1, H2, H3, H4, and H5. The H5 classroom is the biggest of all others with a seating capacity of around 220 people. Besides this, we have well-equipped labs with sufficient systems and equipment. The library is spread on 2 floors with ample space. There are sport facilities for games like Cricket and Football.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life at IIITDM Kancheepuram is good. There are a good amount of Coding and Dance clubs. There are also clubs for other activities. I have been part of the coding club which was a great experience. One thing I really like is Saturday and Sundays being off days; which gives the students with ample time.

    It is a Private Autonomous Institute. Presently, I am in 3rd semester, I am still exploring the IIITDM Kancheepuram, but I say what I felt here. In the starting, I do not like the Institute, I think due to homesick. However, I opened up myself I experienced 1 year here, what I have to say, here will be good infrastructure, labs, friendly facilities, playground, supportive coordinators.     My experience at IIITDM Kancheepuram is good so far. It is one of the best Institutes. The infrastructure, hostel facilities, everything is great here. I have chosen this Institute particularly because of the academic performance and that is why the placements are also good. It is mandatory for all the students to maintain 85% of attendance....     Campus life is overall good. I wrote JEE in 2023 and got onto IIITDM Chennai. My overall experience is good. I chose this particular institute as it was only institute that provides Smart Manufacturing course in Southern part of India.     I want to adapt to the culture of Tamil Nadu which has a lot of temples. It is also near to my home state and that makes it easy to travel for me. These factors made me choose this Institute.     Overall Rating
    There is a friendly environment in the college between seniors and juniors. Transportation facilities like bus and auto are easily available here. Students are provided with Ethernet ports in each room which has up to 1Gbps speed. Spacious rooms are given for students during 1 and 3 year with double sharing.
