Andhra University is Situated Near Waltair Junction, Visakhapatnam

A little introduction about my university, which is Andhra University or AU Visakhapatnam is one of the premiere Universities established in the country which offer a 2 Year MBA Program in India. It is considered as the best place for generations for its significance to the society and the various ranges of courses to opt for, which make it the hotpot of knowledge. My batch of MBA is one of the diverse pools of intellectuals who have different backgrounds, degrees, goals, careers and what not. The program is made to cater to every individual making it easier to settle in.

The eligibility criteria for the candidates who want to enrol into an MBA Program is to have a minimum of 10+2+3/4/5 years of education. It provides 2 institutions for MBA programs that are DCMS- Department of Commerce and Management Studies and AUSIB- AU School of International Business. The admission into DCMS can be done either through the APICET exam which is based on merit and the other way is through management quota, no interviews are involved.

The fee structure of admission through management quota is Rs. 1,50,000/- per year and it is the first come first serve basis and fee has been the same for the past few years, making it as the affordable choice for MBA. The fee of the first year is to be paid on spot to allocate the seat to the student Admissions through management quota. It is advisable to browse through the official website of admissions notification and press releases for the registration process. Coming to the admission through the APICET Examination is merit based or rank based. Admission through the APICET has two ways 1. MBA SF (self finance) 2. MBA through scholarship.

The faculties of Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam are doctorates having a minimum of 15 to 20+ years of teaching experiences and recognized teaching fraternity. Their expertise helps the students to gain immense knowledge and guidance to help progress their career in a better way. Not only the professors but the research scholars play a dynamic role in nurturing the knowledge to the students/candidates. Their teaching pedagogy involves traditional methods, smart boards, PPT's, and active participation etc. All the teaching faculties are approachable and friendly towards the students and put a keen interest in solving the doubts or clarifying the topics when we feel stuck.

Our placement cell plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between students and corporate for transforming in college to corporate life of the students. Apart from the placement related activities, the MBA course includes weekly sessions on case study, group discussion, and seminars into its curriculum making the students be prepared to tackle the initial rounds of interviews.

The boys and girls hostels are separate. The boys hostel is within the south campus and the girls hostel is outside the premises and bus facility is provided for girl hostellers from hostel to campus.

The University is located near Waltair Junction, Visakhapatnam. It is the biggest campus in Andhra Pradesh with facilities ranging to University specific library along with a central library, multiple and separate grounds which caters to Cricket, Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball, Kabaddi, Indoor Gymnasium includes Boxing rings, Badminton courts and many more. The vast spread of lush green roads and canteen are the go to spots to hang out with your friends for every student here.

Overall my experience is truly remarkable there. Apart from studies, the presence of NCC, NSS, Student Unions and various other SIGs make the student life an unforgettable experience for a student. Foreign students from across the continents also pursue various degrees and PhD programs help in exchange of culture and livelihood.
