'Samgatha' is Annual Techno Cultural Fest of IIITDM Kancheepuram

My experience at IIITDM Kancheepuram is good so far. It is one of the best Institutes. The infrastructure, hostel facilities, everything is great here. I have chosen this Institute particularly because of the academic performance and that is why the placements are also good. It is mandatory for all the students to maintain 85% of attendance.

I am pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE). The duration of my course is around 4 years. The eligibility criteria are that the students must have passed their class 12th boards with good marks. For admission, the students are required to qualify JEE Main exam. In a semester two exams are conducted such as mid-term exam and end-semester exams. According to me, the academics need a little more improvement to be perfect.

The tuition fee of my course is around Rs. 81,000/- and medical fee is Rs. 600/-. This Institute also provides scholarship to the students.

There is separate faculty allocated to each and every course in IIITDM Kancheepuram. The teachers are well experienced and well trained. In my department, there are various teachers such as Dr.Sanjeeth Kumar Nayak sir, Dr.Chitti Babu sir, and many others. Some of the teachers have completed their studies from foreign Institutions. They make sure that the students understand each and every topic. Every Faculty uses PPTs and blackboard methods to teach the students. The teacher to student ratio is 1:120. Some of the faculties are very friendly with me and we can approach them anytime. Most of the teachers have done their studies from IITs, NITs, etc.

The infrastructure of this Institute is good. The campus has academic block, laboratories, library, etc. The campus is spread over 51.75 acres of land. It is located at kandigai, Tambaram, Kancheepuram, Tamilnadu. The classroom has the seating capacity around 150 students. The Institute also have canteen, Arjuna Sports Complex, Medical Centre, Open Air Theatre, auditorium, etc. My favorite place is the library which has several kinds of books. We can study at the library very peacefully.

My campus life at this Institute is very good and I have made several good memories in their Institute. I still remember the day that I have stepped in this Institute. There are several clubs like Robotics clubs, Imagix club, Dramatics club, Theatrix club, Music club, and Dance club. Our Institute conducts competition like Novice for first year students. Various others activities are organised for the students so that they can build their skills. We have an annual fest like ‘Samgatha' and 'Vashist’. Our Institute celebrates several festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Janmasthami, etc. Various hackathons are also conducted in this Institute.
