VIPS-TC New Delhi Auditorium has Seating Capacity of 200+ Students

The School of Law is one of the most prevalent departments of VIPS-TC New Delhi, and it has just completed its 25 year anniversary. Usually from what I have noticed, the schedule for integrated courses such as B.A.LL.B or BBA.LL.B could be very hectic, but that's just how Law School is. The Institute also offers Masters of Law (LL.M), in multiple domains like Corporate, Policy Research, etc.

The Institute gives admissions through CLAT ranking, and if the seats are left, it is filled up on the basis of CUET scores. The academia centres on integrating legal principles and knowledge into everyday problems. As first year students, we are required to go through domains such as Contracts, Torts, Jurisprudence and so on. Further subjects would completely depend on whether you are enrolled in such courses.

The fee structure is fairly simple, you are required to submit the fee annually, and it varies around for different courses. For Law, the annual fee ranges from Rs. 1,50,000/- to Rs. 1,75,000/-. The university does offer scholarships to specific category students after checking their credentials.

As far as the professors are concerned, usually in the first year we are taught by Assistant Professors, and by the end, Head Professors. I personally have not encountered any instance where they are rude or unprofessional. Usually, professors and even the Institute’s faculty as a whole are very understanding and do their best to guide us. Mostly the professors deliver a lecture, through which we make notes for ourselves. They recommend us the readings to go through for particular topics, and sometimes even provide notes for the same.

There is a separate placement cell in the college, which keeps you updated with Internship opportunities, job openings, and even guides you for the preparation of further competitive exams which you can take after completing Law. Moreover, there are guest speaker sessions almost every other day, featuring High court and district court judges as their chief guests. Recently VIPS held its 10th International Moot court, where students actually came from all over the World. Even that was adjudicated by Delhi High court judges. These guests are here to pour upon us their years of experience and knowledge in the field, so usually the sessions are very insightful.

There is no particular hostel within the college, but one can find a decent PG around the location. As far as my PG friends tell me, the rates are not very high, and they get decent facilities as well.

Talking about the Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies Technical Campus, there are 3 separate departments - Engineering, Law and Business Studies. Though the campus may be small, I would say it's built in a very concise and practical manner. There are other facilities available as well, such as a yoga room, meditation hall, canteens, a coffee spot, print shop, stationary, libraries for each block etc. The classrooms and corridors are air conditioned. Each classroom has about seat capacity of about 70 students, and has a white board and a projector for presentations.

The overall college crowd is okay, it's just you have to find your own set of people to have a great college life. There are several societies, centres and committees that one can join like Cultural Committee, Centre for Social Science, Moot Court society, Youth parliament society and many more. Usually there is always an event or fest planned every other day, but the main INTIO fest happens annually. There are other event planners as well, who keep organising stuff as well.
