My Unfiltered Life at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore

Overall Rating
My College life has been so much fun and educational. I chose PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, since it's one of the most prestigious Institutions in Tamil Nadu, which is my home state. Moreover, the placement opportunities here are too good to be true. The faculties are strict yet highly experienced and helping, which you won't find in many Colleges. The lab facilities available are exceptional and there are libraries in each department. The technical events conducted here are highly helpful.
 

Academics Rating
This College received 67th rank under Engineering category by NIRF. I chose Production Engineering and it was a decision made by my parents and me. I wanted something focused solely in Engineering because I didn't have Computer Science in my school boards. Admission process is strictly based on Tamil Nadu Board of Education, there will be 2 tutorials 2 continuous assessments and then final semester exam practice tests are conducted. We also have separate practical and lab exams.
The tuition fees in my College is around Rs. 21000/- and the mess deposit is around Rs. 63000/- . The hostel fee depends on the type of room you select. The hostel rooms are sharing, ranging from 2 to 8 seater.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties are strict yet highly experienced and helping. They have good practical knowledge and have worked in many companies, so you can ask doubts to them and they will surely clarify them. The teacher student ratio is around 1:55. They use presentations, videos, practical lab facilities, group discussions, seminars, to teach us a topic. Some of the faculties are friendly and some are strict.
 

Placement Rating
The placements here are extremely good. If you have good practical knowledge and CGPA above 8, you can easily get placed.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel mess food is average, but acceptable. Girls are supposed to be inside the hostel premises around 6:40 PM.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus infrastructure is good. Some of the classrooms are air conditioned while some are not. There are various seminar halls in the College, all being air conditioned too. The campus canteen food is too good and affordable. Special attention is given to sports and there are sports clubs and arena too. My favourite part of the College is the Quadrangle.
 

Campus Rating
My overall campus life at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore is too good. The College is not so crowded so it is manageable. There are many clubs, associations, events, extracurricular activities, and DJ nights in hostel. Each department has their club and association to it. Fests are held every semester. Every year a technical event called the Kriya is conducted by the Students Union of our College. Additionally, we also have a cultural event called the Intrams which is conducted every year collectively by the College.

    I chose the integrated M.Sc. program in PSG College of Technology which is for 5 years, and it is very good. I chose this course because it has 1 year of internship programs at different companies. The hostels are neatly maintained, and you might see a lot of south India.
