Admission in IIIT Bhopal B.Tech Course is Through JEE Main Exam

So far till now, as a first year student, the overall experience is mixed because placement data and other things are great but it doesn't have a campus of its own so it runs inside Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) campus. But the work is going on by the Institute, for making its own campus. I got this Institute through my JEE main percentile and its placement statistics are good too.

I have chosen Electronics and Communication Engineering as it has great demand nowadays and it will ultimately increase with time in India. This Institute provides good research opportunities and since it is situated in the MANIT Campus, you can use facilities of the Institute too. Indian Institute of Information Technology is nationally recognised, so you can use IISER Bhopal lab too. The entry requirement is that you should score a decent 96 percentile or above in JEE Main and if you have any sort of reservation then 90 percentile or above. But for Computer Science Engineering, it is around 97-98 percentile. Admission process happens inside Institute and its simple; you have to download the seat allotment letter from JoSAA and then fill the form on IIIT Bhopal website and then you have to reach the Institute on the day of reporting. Mini tests, midterm exams and end term exams are held each semester. There are classes for skill development, yoga, sports and professional communication which are very essential in today's World.

Fee is around Rs. 12,00,000/- to Rs. 13,00,000/- for 4 years. Hostel fee is around Rs. 70,000/- and mess fees is Rs. 41,000/-. Yes, there are scholarship options based on your family’s income like Vidyalakshmi portal and Reliance Scholarship.

All faculties are either graduated from IIIT or some foreign Universities. They have done Masters and Ph.D. in their respective fields. The teacher’s nature is good and they are willing to help students. Bonding between teacher and student is decent. They are approachable and they solve doubts even after the class. There are around 15 teachers for 700 students. They teach through ppt and sometimes on blackboard.

There is a placement cell in my Institute whose responsibility is to bring companies into the Institute. They give referral if the student is good enough. Communication classes are held before placement where students are assisted so they can perform well in the interview. Companies like Cred, Google, Microsoft etc. come for campus placements.

Yes, there are hostel facilities, but only for first year boys in BHEL area. But for girls, hostel facilities are available throughout the 4 years in RGPV area. There are total 4 hostels in BHEL. Rooms are triple sharing and room size is small to medium for three students. Washroom are decent, but could be improved. Mess food is edible but I wish its quality could be improved. The main gate closes at 10:00 PM.

There are two blocks NTB and MPSTEP. Campus is located near Panchsheel Nagar and is spread till 60 acres. You can use MANIT Bhopal library. There is a conference hall, sports room, and canteens available at MANIT for the students of IIIT. Canteen is my favourite place in Institute. The transport facility is not good as there are limited buses and students have to wait for buses after departing from classes.

Overall campus life is good. Crowd of the Institution are hardworking and tech enthusiasts and there is a healthy competition among us. There are many clubs like Inspire for technical and spiritual aspects, IEEE, Codame, etc. Niimack is the annual fest of IIIT Bhopal. IIIT Bhopal students can also take part in the fests organised by MANIT too.
