My College Experience at KCAET Malappuram

Overall Rating
Kelappaji College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Malappuram, offers two main courses, B.Tech Agricultural Engineering. Out of the two, I am studying B.Tech Agricultural Engineering. And this is one of the rare Government Colleges that deals with my course. Until now there have been 37 batches that have passed out and still many students are opting for this College for their higher studies. I wanted to study Agriculture related courses, which is why I applied in this College.
 

Academics Rating
I applied for admission in my course related entrance tests. Then based on my overall rank, I chose this College. Now I am happy that I chose this one. For me, this course is very easy to understand. I am a second year student and until now the syllabus has been very easy. The syllabus is completely different for our batch as compared to the previous batches.
When I joined KCAET Malappuram, I had to only pay Rs. 7500/- per semester but now there has been an increment of 10% in semester fees reaching around Rs. 21,000/-.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are good and friendly with us. Their lectures are interesting as they teach using PPTs and provide notes of the syllabus which is very easy to understand than in the textbooks referred. Moreover, practical classes are more interesting than the theory. In practical classes students are divided into groups for their convenience which also helps students in better understanding of topics. Many of the faculties have previously studied here in KCAET Malappuram.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, there are girl's and boy's hostels.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The entire campus is spread around 100 acres of land which include Academic Blocks, Engineering divisions, Instructional Farms, KVK (Krishi Vigyan Kendra), several labs for workshop, other soil & water conservation labs, a junkyard for farm equipment, machines and mainly they have different types of tractors, plough, tillers, harvesters, etc. which are well maintained.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is wonderful and all students get to know each other as there are mainly 2 courses and students are interdependent on each other for different activities. Our College is peaceful, eco-friendly, filled with many trees and plants & the College is situated on the banks of the Bharathapuzha river
. Many academic and non-academic activities have taken place in this College by the College Union, faculties, etc.

    I am in my 2nd year right now. I chose this College because I have an interest in the Agriculture field. I haven’t good marks in the exam and that is why I chose this course. When I visited this College first time, I was really amazed by the ambience. It is a eco-friendly College and the environment here is really peaceful and calm.     KCAET Malappuram is affiliated to Kerala Agricultural University. It is one of the reputed Colleges with strong academic foundation. It also provides practical knowledge to the students. The placements here are average but it is improving. Overall, this College is good for the students aspiring to contribute to agricultural and allied engineering field.
