Journey So Far at BIT Coimbatore

Overall Rating
My overall experience in Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Coimbatore is quite good till now. It is Accredited by NAAC (A+). The factors which made me choose this particular Institute is their infrastructure, education curriculum and the atmosphere. In other Institutes they have regular classes and lectures but here we have to choose either going to classes or library or special lab for events and projects or they introduce personalized skills which are cutting age techniques.
 

Academics Rating
The course which is chosen by me is Electrical and Electronics Engineering. It’s a four year course. For this course, you have certain criteria to enter through Government counselling, they calculate your marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and for Management you just have get above 50%. The frequency of examinations in our Institute is per semester. We have two internal examinations at end of the each semester. In academics, they don’t just ask traditional type questions, instead they ask and help us to learn in a practically oriented way which is helpful for day to day professional life.
The fees of the course I've chosen is Rs. 2,15,000/- per year which also includes tuition fees, admission fees, registration, Placement and also hostel. So if you exclude hostel, you get around Rs. 1,15,000/- which is only applicable for Government quota students.
 

Faculty Rating
Our faculty members have the required experience to teach the students efficiently and significantly, They graduated from colleges like SSN, NIT, IIT, and VIT. Their method of teaching includes blackboards, PPTs, group discussions which are all methods they use based on the requirement of that particular topic. The problem solving ability of teachers is good and fast & their explanations and techniques are very understandable. The teacher student ratio is 1:40, it varies sometime. My experience with them is good, they are polite and answer your questions.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, BIT Coimbatore has a separate cell for Placements which functions regularly and efficiently. They help the students to achieve and learn cutting edge technologies which is required in the industry to get a good job. They design a curriculum for personalized skills and also for improving vocabulary, aptitude etc.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the Institute offers residential facilities for both boys and girls separately. There are 6 blocks, each for boys and girls with around 1000 to 1500 rooms. Overall 5000 students reside here. Mess food is neat in terms of hygiene and good in terms of taste. They offer meals three times a day. Hostel fee annually is around Rs. 1,00,000/-. Rules are quite strict. Outings are available from 2nd year only on two days a week. Moreover, you have to come back before 8:15 PM.
 

Infrastructure Rating
In our Institute, there are majorly 4 to 5 blocks. As it is a very large campus that has all types of basic facilities that are required for a student. Yes, it has all academic facilities like library, labs, seminar halls, and auditorium, which are maintained neatly. Yes, they have medical centre which is okay. Sports here are also good. Moreover, transport, security and other facilities are good enough. My favourite part is the library which is also known as the learning centre.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life at Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Coimbatore is quite and interesting. It has a huge campus. They weren’t strict earlier, but now they are stricter so that is difficult for us. The crowd is a lot even though they have a huge campus area. Yes, there are many clubs like Leo Club, Geo Club, Code Circle, and Photohub. There are lots of clubs which are both technical and non-technical. I’m also a part of that club. They have Pongal celebration which is okay. Recently, they introduced Onam celebration that is manageable but they conduct many technical event which are good.

    The overall opinion about the college is good. It is one of the top 30 engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. The faculties are very kind and ready to teach as many times as you want.
