Shri Ram College of Commerce M.Com Review By Shruti Singh

Shri Ram College of Commerce also known as SRCC is one of the best commerce college among the all college under Delhi University. Like many other colleges of the Delhi University this college is also rated as A+ by the NAAC. SRCC is the best college for the masters and that what I am saying on my own experiences in the university. Fee is very less because it is a government college yet we can get the scholarship in the college based on the performance in the entrance test and the eligibility criteria of the college. College was established in 1926 and this college is in the north campus of the Delhi University. I choose this college because it was considered to be a good college for the master degree and based on my experience here I can say that it is a very good college for the masters degree and also for the placements.

Graduation in commerce is must for the admission in the master of commerce and this course is not just for the jobs or placements, it is for the depth of your knowledge. Eligibility for this course is very simple which is that we need to complete our graduation before the admission process and also we need to appear for the exam called Delhi University Entrance Test which is conducted for the student who are willing to take admission in the master streams. Course this four semester long and I am currently in my fourth semester and level of the difficulty of the semester exams is very easy we just need to study seriously in the classes and also we need to focus more on the physical implementation of the theory because in reality we need to do that. My motivation to pursue M. Comm was that I wanted to be placed in a good company for that only I decided to go for the post graduation.

There would be at least fifty teachers in SRCC and approx. thirty teachers would have teach me in my subjects including extra subjects and I know thirty teachers and I can say all the teachers that I met and those who taught me was amazing and the knowledge of the subjects and understanding of the concept that they have is very good and not only academically but also emotionally. All the teachers are required to one their research work if they want to be professors and they also need to have good experience so the quality of the teachers in the college is very good. The ratio of the male and female teachers is also very good so we have male and female teachers in equal proportional. Style of teaching is good and most of works we need to do by ourselves so we need the guidance and the support of the teachers.

Placement body in the college is very good and they allow both bachelors and masters students in the masters and the cell of the placements in the SRCC is interface between the companies and the college body. Many companies visit the campus and in my batch till now more than 50 companies visited the campus for the selection process. Highest package offered in last year batch was Rs. 30 Lakhs per annum and the average package was of 6.5 Lakhs per annum. Two types of placement process is carried out in the college, one is early placements which happens in the summer and other one which happen in the last of the semester. Some companies that visit the campus are Zomato, Deloitte, Google. RSA, Barclays, LEK Consultancy, KPMG, Citi Bank, and PWC. Companies that visit the college are just not come for the placements but they also give internships or article ship before the actual job start.

Hostels are available in the campus and there are distinct hostel for the boys and girl students. As a girl I feel more secure in the college hostel than the hostels available outside the campus. The security personals in the college hostels are also very active for our safety. These limited seats in the hostel inside the campus so we need to allot the hostel early, at the time of admission itself. Some of the facilities that are available in the campus are that there is a free Wi-Fi for the hostel students and also there is a laundry services and also there is a common hall for the all type of recreational activities that happen in the hostels on Sundays. PGs outside the campus are available but the problem with them is that the room size is very small and the food quality is also not as good as in the hostel and also the fee in the PGs is very high than the fee in the college hostel.

Shri Ram College of Commerce has the best sports among the all college of Delhi University and the numbers of the games facilities that are available in the institute is also very high like some of the games that are present in the college are Archery, Judo, Hockey, Lawn Tennis, Aquatics, Yoga and many more. Other important thing is the library in the college which is huge where we can found all types of newspaper and all the other recent magazines in the market. Health Infrastructure is very good in the college for the students where we can found all types of medicines. College also has the high quality of the lab and seminar halls and also the virtual labs in the institute are very good than the other colleges. There is a big canteen in the college where we can have lunch after the classes. Parking facilities are also available in the college. Classrooms are good and very peaceful and there are also some smart classrooms.

My experience till now in the college is super fun and I also study a lot in the college. There are many times when I get depressed by the college culture but there are also times when I enjoyed I lot a in the college and one of the main reason for the enjoyment in the institute is the number of fests that happen in the college. There is one fest in which we welcome the freshers in the SRCC and in one fest we say farewell to the seniors who are leaving the campus and one fest is for the teachers and one is for the students and some fests are based on the festivals. Clubs are many in various arts like from dancing to the archery and from the football club to the photography society. Crowd in the college is very energetic and very vibrant with lot of support. Life at Shri Ram College of Commerce is good and we can excel in life while doing a lot of extracurricular activities.
