Mar Athanasius College of Engineering is one of the top 3 colleges in Kerala with really fine teachers.

The course provided by Kerala Technological University. It is of moderate difficulty with both theoretical as well as practical application questions involved. There are labs every semester except the last semester. In the 5th semester there is a mini project. And in 7th and 8th semesters we have main projects. There is both internal assessment and external assessment. External assessment is the semester exam conducted by the university. Practical exams are conducted by an external faculty. An attendance of 75% is essential and a must in order to be eligible to write the exam

Most of the faculty are IIT graduates. They have great knowledge about the subject. The course curriculum could be improved further with more practical works and industry exposure. The college comes under Kerala Technological University (KTU) so the semester exams are conducted by the university. It is of moderate difficulty. The teachers have great subject knowledge and are ready to help whenever you approach them. They are amiable and supportive. They look into both your academic as well as extracurricular activities. All updates regarding any new competition or other opportunities are shared by the teachers in the whatsapp groups so that students can make the most of the opportunity presented.

The placement cell is extremely helpful. They provide trainings and weekly placement tests to assess and improve upon the week aspects of your placement journey. They bring all on campus and off campus placement opportunities to the attention of the students so that they can make use of it. Sessions are arranged to get to know about higher studies and other opportunities like GATE, IELTS etc. So far about 70% of students in the department have been placed. The highest offer was 12 lakhs p.a and the lowest is 3 LPA. Average offer was 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies were IBM, Zoho, KeyValue, TISMO, Federal Bank etc. Of these about 4-6 companies have offered internships and many will start their internship drives in the coming months.

We have hostels for both females and males. Admission to hostels is usually provided in the second year. There are both dormitories as well as rooms. In the first year of your hostel life you have to stay in dorms and then from next year you will be allotted rooms. The mess food in the college hostel is better than that provided in PG. The mess bill is calculated based on how much you eat. The hostel also has a library, a computer room. A gym for recreational purposes, a store to buy you essential stuffs and a fridge where you can buy ice creams and juices. We also have coolers for cold water and hit water is available on all floors for drinking. There is 24*7 water supply and electricity. Wi-Fi is also available.

The infrastructure is really good. We have a well stocked library with textbooks, ebooks, journals, research papers etc. We also have a FAB lab, an IOT lab, an IEEE lab for hardware projects, foundry and machine lab etc. We have 24*7 wi-fi in classrooms as well as in hostel. There is a College library as well as libraries for each department. The mess food in the college hostel is much better than that we get in the PG hostels nearby and at a reasonable price. It is also cheaper compared to other hostels. There is sports and other activities available as well. We have a basketball court, football court, swimming pool, a track to train etc.

The campus life is vibrant with different events happening every evening. We have many clubs and societies. There are clubs for your technical interests as well as for your artistic interests. We have technical societies like IEEE, IEDC, SAE, ASME etc. There is a debate club, music club, film club etc. Each club has its own events and has made many achievements. Our technical societies are in the forefront einning competitions at state national as well as international levels. These add exposure and experience to our students.
