Various Internships are offered by GCE Ratnagiri

My overall experience at Government College of Engineering Ratnagiri was average. When I joined, the campus was still not built & it is slowly improving & upgrading. As the cutoff for MHT-CET was low, it is a Government College, I was granted a seat via CAP counselling round 2. This College offered the specialization in B.Tech that is Artificial Intelligence & Data Science and I was very keen towards studying under any such domain like this, so I opted for this.

The course I chose is of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. After my 10th, I opted for Computer Science and for my further Engineering degree, I chose this branch. 12th Graded Science stream and Diploma students are eligible to opt for this course. As I have told earlier, students have to give MHT-CET exam & appear in CAP counselling . Once you are selected, you have to physically appear at the College and submit admission form along with the essential documents. Semester wise exams are conducted at the College.

As I was a General category student, my overall fee (4 years) was around Rs. 95,250/-, which was roughly around Rs. 24,000/- per year. We used to pay Rs. 1000/- at the end of each semester exams. Various scholarships are also available for students especially for female students. I was not eligible for any scholarship so I paid the full fees.

Overall, the teaching faculty is good. Mostly, the professors which are there are not the permanent faculty but their teaching style is good. The teachers mostly use smart boards to present the PPTs for explaining the chapters, but maximum no of times teachers use blackboards while teaching. They are good at solving doubts of the students. They do help the students when they face problems in their academics. The teachers are quite good with their teaching nature and they are very much approachable for our academic doubts. The bonding between the teachers and the students is quite good.

The College does help students is securing excellent Internship opportunities in top organisations & firms.

For now, there are no accommodations available at the GCE Ratnagiri campus. However, hostel or PGs are available near the College area, including the mess facilities. Girls and boys live separately. Mess food is average.

When I took admission, at that time there was only one building. They started the construction of new building around starting of 2023. The inauguration of the College was done by our honorable Chief Minister. So now, the campus is quite large and also there is ground to organise any event. The campus is located near Thibaw Palace, Maruti Mandir in Ratnagiri. The new building has quite big classrooms also equipped with smart boards and projectors and the building also has academic facilities like library, labs, conference halls, etc. As of now, there is no canteen facility available in the College. College has sports facilities including indoor and outdoor games.

Overall campus life is average. Nevertheless, our College conducts some gatherings during Navratri and Shivaji Jayanti. Near the GCE Ratnagiri campus, there are so many beautiful places that are worth visiting. Therefore, students over here find their peace and happiness amongst friends by visiting these nearby places. The College crowd is all over from Maharashtra’s different regions like Nagpur, Nashik, Jalgaon, etc.
