Techno India Salt Lake is a private college that was established in 2001. It is also known as TISL and provides 22 courses across 6 streams. Techno has both UG and PG courses. It is affiliated with Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and it has an accreditation from the NBA and also approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), ARIIA, and Smart India Hackathon 2019. Over the past years admission is done through prestigious and reputed competitive exams like JEE (Mains) and WBJEE. They also take admission on merit-based and entrance test.

There is also an option for direct admission for a limited number of non-resident Indian or foreign national students. TISL has committees for every small thing like Academic committee, placement and training committee, sports committee, anti-ragging committee, students and affairs committee, disciplinary committee, cultural committee, and many more so that if any problem arises, it can be solved easily and very fast. Specially placement cells are really active and bring great company for students. College management works really smoothly.

I pursued Media science and graduated in 2020 only from TISL. I had a great college life. Eligibility for this course is very basic; you should have above 60% in your 12 boards and the CET exam is a must if you want to take admission. Both online and offline admission processes are available. And if you missed the CET exams, Techno conducts its own entrance exam. Media science is very close to mass communication. The main difference between media science and mass communication is that media science as a discipline is much more practical than mass communication. Mass com includes more theory and less assignment and all. And there are fewer colleges in Kolkata that provide Media science so, within a few colleges; Techno is the best for pursuing media science.

Actually, when I took admission I expected not much from this subject but when I started knowing this subject in-depth, I found out so many aspects of this course like you'll get to know about journalism, content writing, videography, photography, Pre and post productions, PR management, Event management and many more. So I feel Media science is a diverse subject. But if I say honestly, you need to struggle in this field. Starting years will be tough but I believe if you know what you doing and you are confident, you'll get a job.

The faculties of our course are amazing, in terms of teaching and human as well. I feel these past 3 years were so good because of the college obviously but our faculties played a huge role in that. All total there are 200+ faculties in our whole college and there were 15+ faculties throughout our 3 years of graduation and every faculty is great teachers, they all are well experienced and qualified in their field. They are in contact with high profile individuals in our media line.

Our faculties are very friendly and supportive in general, they do help and give extra care and attention to every student. Especially I loved their modern way of teaching and explaining everything with examples. They really helped us during our last year, they helped us to enrich our skills and plus points to crack the interviews. And till now they provide our batch with many internships and jobs through WhatsApp groups and personal chats. I am glad; I got to know such faculties and could gain so much knowledge from them. So I would definitely recommend everyone who is thinking of pursuing media science, go with Techno India, you won't regret it.

Honestly speaking, according to me, Techno India Salt Lake is best in terms of placement among most of the colleges in Kolkata but in terms of our department, placement cell is not much action, and very few companies come for campusing. In our batch, a handful of students got an offer letter but if you can maintain a healthy and good relation with faculties, they will definitely provide you with job offerings and vacancies in reputed companies.

The highest package provided is Rs. 25,000 per month by a renowned company that is "24 Ghanta" Actually, if you are confident about your work, you'll get a job from the colleges as Techno India Salt Lake is a reputed institute so interviewers really prefer Techno students while job interviews.

No, Techno India Salt Lake doesn't have any hostel on their campus but they have tied up with private hostels outside the campus. There are also many PGs near TISL where students generally stay. Most of the students in our batch used to stay at PGs. Not many people go to the private hostel as it's outside the campus. But there are separate hostels for boys and girls. In total, including both boys and girls hostel, there are around 50 rooms.

The quality of food served three times a day is standard and it is 5 min walk from the campus. TISL does not compromise about student's security so the hostel is well secured.

Techno India Salt Lake has a modern infrastructure and a huge campus. They have their parking area for their own faculties, staff, and students. They have 3 buildings in total and 1 more building is in progress. They have a total of 2 big grounds. There air-conditioned computer labs, studios, and classrooms. They do have medical and emergency support.

TISL has a huge auditorium. They have their own cafeteria which is quite expensive. They also have CCD at the front building. Wi-Fi is also available all over the campus. TISL have their own library which is average in size and compact. The classrooms are pretty much big in size and they are air-conditioned.

I had a great and memorable campus life. Most of the after classes, my friend and me used to spend most of our time in our playgrounds, canteens. Techno India Salt Lake conducts many fests throughout the year and the most famous fest across Kolkata is our annual cultural fest that is 'ANAKHRONOS'. I used to love participating in all kinds of extra circular activities. TISL conducts annual sports day, teacher's day, fresher's day and more small occasions.

Techno does take part in other college's fest and we won many of them. Because of all these extracurricular activities, we used to meet new faces which were pretty much exciting. It all helped us to come out of our shell and boost up our personality and inner self.
