Life at GKCIET Malda

Overall Rating
First of all, it seemed like a good CFTI, but in reality, it is nowhere near any. All were promised of great things, but nothing was true. The college is under MAKAUT which is not a very good university to study under in itself. If you get in this college and in 1st year, try to give JEE again and go for better college. The faculty is not good except some. The management is not helpful at all. All works are slow as in government office and student's distress is not addressed to. Would not recommend at all.
 

Academics Rating
One needs to clear JEE or WBJEE in order to get admission. Don't get fooled because it’s a CFTI, you can get here with very low rank better even if you are in reserved category then just appear in JEE and you will get admission here. Very poor academics. Labs are not equipped, low lab assistants, and even lack of proper knowledge.
 

Faculty Rating
With the exception of one or two teachers most are not up to the level that one would expect in a central government college. Again, focusing on the point that except some teachers who are extremely knowledgeable, and very helpful, most will nag one about attendance. Proper classes are not held even teachers will be seen reading from notes instead of making students understand. Even some make mistakes in simplest integrations.
 

Placement Rating
There is a TPO cell in the college, but it is more like non-existent. No good placement. No effort by TPO officers to contact companies. Only student make all efforts. If you are in Electrical or Mechanical, then please don't expect placements.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the only thing acceptable in the institution is the hostel if you can tolerate the substandard food and high price.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The structure is quite moderate, not like how a campus should be but it’s all right. There's a Central Library, centrally air conditioned. This is the only good part other than that not any useful books available just semester books that too short supplied. No blocks have AC even in labs except mechanical branch. Labs in electrical are very poor.
 

Campus Rating
There is "NO" campus life in this college. Just like school, or even worse than that. No boundary in the campus so no one is allowed to roam. Attendance is mandatory you will have to come all weather situations. The location is so bad and expensive travel though a bus service is provided. No clubs, teams, sports community, and student union nothing at all is there nor will the faculty allow. Very bad college would not recommend.

    The Ghani Khan Choudhary Institute of Engineering and Technology is a CFTI under MoE Govt of India. It is one of the great technical institutes in West Bengal as well as in India. The college is adjacent to the Malda Town with well connected transportation services. It offers courses like B.Tech and Diploma.     This college is not the best option for your career. If you have scored average marks which can let you go for this college, please opt for other government colleges or any private colleges.
